POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I had an incredible time speaking at the First Article Review Session of 2026 hosted by the @aadmd.cmul reviewing the topic:
“Strategies for Enhancing Social Skills of Individuals with Intellectual Disability.”
One thing that stayed with me:
Exposure alone is not inclusion.
Social skills are not just about communication. They impact belonging, friendships, confidence, emotional regulation, independence, and quality of life.
We discussed practical strategies like:
✨ peer interaction
✨ storytelling
✨ emotional intelligence training
✨ play-based learning
✨ video modelling
But more importantly, we reflected on how communities, schools, and families can create spaces where neurodivergent individuals are not just accommodated… but genuinely included.
Grateful for the conversations, connections, and shared commitment to doing better. 💙 @afeez_abdulrasak was 🔥

Thank you for having us Mr Afeez Abdulrasak. It was a pleasure meeting you and learning from your wealth of knowledge and experience. You were really good with Khalil despite how much stressful it was getting him to be calm the entire time 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

I really appreciate your level of understanding of our special children and look forward to collaborate with you whenever necessary 😊

Your presentation at the recently completed GT autism conference was very insightful for me. If you are yet to watch his lecture, please do @afeez_abdulrasak especially if you are a parent or caregiver for children on the autism spectrum.

May Allah continue to widen us in knowledge and understanding and strength to continue to show up and advocate for children on the autism spectrum. Amin😇

The struggle to get Khalil to snap pictures 🤦🏽‍♀️😫😫
Who can relate?

🧠Our mental health fuels our general well being especially productivity output at work, school, business and our relationships within our social network.

🧠Once our mental health is disturbed then we most likely become disorganised and this also happens to children in their own little world.

🧠Join us on Sunday the 15th of October, 2023 by 8pm WAT as we @afeez_abdulrasak and my humble self talk about understanding children's mental health.

🧠Lots of crazy things are happening to children in the world today.

🧠You will be glad you did.
