It was such a joy to be at City Hall today as city Councilman, Michael Julian Bond celebrated an honored esteemed actor, Bill Duke. I have worked with him and admire him not only for his acting skills but his skills as producer writer director. His honor was among others such as having a star on the walk of fame a street named after him and so much else. Congratulations brother Bill so honored to be in your presence.#billduke #michaeljulianbond

#TBT Over our 40 years, the ArtsXchange has been a creative home to many greats, including longtime activists and actors, Elisabeth & Afemo Omilami — from Afemo finding an arts community during his Morehouse days, to Elisabeth debuting a play at the original Grant Park location and being our 2020 Economic Justice Champion at the Ebon Dooley Arts & Social Justice Awards, for her decades of work with Hosea Helps (@4hosea).

We are grateful that the ArtsXchange remains a warm and welcoming place for folks to return, like the Omilamis did as panelists for our “Origin” film talkback in February.

And if you’ve ever been part of the ArtsXchange family, we hope you’ll return this Saturday for Homecoming: Back to Our Roots!

Join us for a day of good food, a pop-up exhibit where you can show your old photos of the AXC, games, performances by @kimstringsmusic, @iamartsfoundation, and more!

Believe you me, I saw the circus in a whole new way last week. They’ve gone to Birmingham will be back in Atlanta May 17th. They always give us free tickets for the homeless and the people that we serve so God is blessing them because they will not be at their traditional location they will be at Atlantic Station! Please support them and take the elders. They will have a great time.
There’s a beautiful, beautiful thing that happens at our UNIVERSOUL Circus -no hate, no shooting, no anger or negative emotions, intergenerational celebration and proof that humanity can be human. Just people coming together from all different races and all different places in peace and harmony for everyone to see.
Get your tickets, lets support them. It’s up to us btw - they are the ONLY BLACK OWNED CIRCUS IN AMERICA AND NO ANIMALS !! See you there
