Today, I proudly celebrate two extraordinary gentlemen, my father, Mr. Robert White, and my uncle, Mr. Mark White, for their continued dedication to philanthropy, service, and the beautiful island we call home. 🇯🇲

It was wonderful seeing them attend this year's American Friends of Jamaica Gala, an evening celebrating leadership, generosity, and the collective commitment to Jamaica's future, alongside distinguished leaders and supporters, including Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Adam Stewart, and Sheryl Lee Ralph.🇯🇲

The work of @afjcares continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Jamaicans through charitable grants, healthcare, education, economic development, and critical disaster relief, especially during the ongoing recovery from Hurricane Melissa.🇯🇲

Through their personal efforts and the incredible work of @sanmernafoundation, my father and uncle continue to demonstrate that giving back is not simply an act of generosity; it is a responsibility, a calling, and a legacy worth passing on.🇯🇲

The partnership between @afjcares and @sanmernafoundation is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when compassionate hearts, shared purpose, and meaningful action come together.🇯🇲

To my father and uncle: May you never grow weary of doing good. Continue joining hands, building bridges, restoring hope, and creating opportunities for the people of Jamaica. Your commitment to serving others speaks louder than words, and your example inspires generations to come.🇯🇲

What an incredible honour to receive the International Achievement Award at the @afjcares Hummingbird Gala, surrounded by family, friends, colleagues and so many inspiring leaders. It is one of the greatest privileges of my life to champion Jamaica and the extraordinary people who make our island what it is. We’ll keep showing up every day and doing everything we can for Jamaica. We will never stop. 🇯🇲

Congratulations to the outstanding honorees @adamstewart & @thesherylleeralph THE American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) raised more than US$900,000 ($143 million) in total donor support at its 2026 Hummingbird Gala on Friday, surpassing its fund-raising target as supporters gathered in New York to celebrate two distinguished Jamaicans and contribute to the organisation’s work across the island.

Held at The Plaza, the annual gala brought together diplomats, business leaders, philanthropists, members of the Jamaican Diaspora, and friends of Jamaica. Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett were among the guests at the annual fundraising gala, which brought together business leaders, philanthropists and members of the Jamaican diaspora in support of AFJ’s work across Jamaica, including ongoing Hurricane Melissa recovery efforts. Executive chairman of Sandals Resort International and the Jamaica Observer Adam Stewart, and Emmy Award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, were honoured during the evening which also featured performances by reggae and dancehall pioneers Sister Nancy and Brigadier Jerry.

Thanks to American Friends of Jamaica for having Sister Nancy, her big brother Brigadier General and yours truly at the Hummingbird Gala at The Plaza Hotel on Friday.

While I’ve selected for both of them before, this was my first time with both of them together.

Jamaica’s prime minister Andrew Holness spoke and Adam Stewart (of Sandals) was awarded alongside Emmy award winning actress, Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Shouts to Max Glazer for everything he did to make the night run smooth, not to mention a proper bashment party set in a high society setting, one for the books!

My incredible husband reminded me this morning that today marks 10 years since I came home from the hospital after a month-long stay at @montefiorehealthsystem and @burke_rehab following my ruptured brain aneurysm and hemorrhagic stroke. 🧠

@christopherjohnfarley has been right by my side through it all! 💞

We went back to his “home” (sort of) this weekend — celebrating and helping to raise funds for education and health care initiatives in Jamaica at @afjcares Hummingbird Gala! 🇯🇲

Some evenings are about more than an event. They take you home. ❤️🇯🇲

Attending the @afjcares Gala, where the phenomenal @thesherylleeralph and @adamstewart were honored, with Prime Minister @andrewholnessjm also in attendance, was special for so many reasons.

For me, it felt like a homecoming.

I was there as a guest of two Jamaican musical greats who are like family to me, #brigadierjerry and his sister, @sisternancy. Having them together in the same space was pure magic, especially knowing the legacy they represent. Uncle Briggy and my father, Albert “Ilawi” Johnson, were the legendary duo behind the iconic Jah Love Sound System. ❤️🎶

Seeing so many familiar faces like @firstofhall and @hsialalala and @chrismessado, made the evening even more special. It brought back beautiful memories of my journey through entertainment, media and philanthropy, and reminded me of the people and experiences that have helped shape my path.

I was so happy to reconnect with my dear friend and former colleague, @samanthachantrelle, we hadn’t seen each other in quite some time, and it was wonderful to see her stepping into her new role as Development Director at AFJ. So happy for her and this exciting new chapter!

New York is a special place. It has a way of reconnecting people, opening doors and bringing purpose and possibility into the same room.

As I continue building my brands and connecting with like-minded people, it means even more when 🇯🇲 Jamaica is at the heart of it all. Our culture, our people and our global influence continue to create opportunities for connection, collaboration and legacy.
