BE THE FLOW. This is the piece I paint in my new class Let Go and Let It Flow. Yeah. I know the sun is shining through it & it makes it a little harder to see, but...... . . DOESN'T IT LOOK COOL? . . OK, here's the deal. I am totally stoked by the people who have already signed up for this new class. Talented artists in their own rights. Which pretty much makes me blush the color of my shirt. . . I don't know how I got so damn lucky to connect with the most amazingly talented, creative and supportive people. . . Every time a new order comes in this rolls through my head: . . A. OMG, NO WAY! . B. Get out of town! . C. That is freaking awesome! . D. They want to paint with me?!!! . E. All of the above. . . Yeah, this might be my easiest multiple choice ever. If this counted, it would definitely be sliding scale grading because, it's a given. E. . . Then I snoopy dance. . . Then I remind myself of ALL the people who have already painted with me in person at workshops. On zoom. In 1:1 sessions. With class recordings. In Sketchbook Freedom Sessions. Paint Parties. Elements Imagined. The Garden Path. Soul Fueled Watercolors. MORE. Creatives from around the world. I am not kidding. From Geneva to Chile, from NH (hey New Hampshire) to Idaho, to California, and Seattle. WHOA. It is still kind of unbelievable. And magical. One with my laptop today, so far. Working on my course LET GO + LET IT FLOW: Soul-Fueled Abstract Painting. . . I am so excited to be nearing the finish line. I cannot wait to share this new course with you. It has really been a labor of love from filming three times (yeah, so there's that 😁) to challenges in editing/compressing, to choosing to set it aside to while helping Mom through appendicitis and surgery recuperation. Then having other things take precedence. I trusted the Universe and told myself, all in good time. . . In the meantime, amazing creatives from all over the world have continued to paint with me in my Gestural Expressions class (link in bio) and the work they have been creating inspires me. It is just one if the reasons I can't wait to finish up and release this new class to you. . . It is an amazing thing when someone sends me a message with a photo and says, 'THIS is what I painted in your course'. Seriously? Unimaginable a few short years ago and such a blessing. . . Hail, hail, the gangs all here. 🎉 . . Whoa. Yesterday. Glad it is in the rear view. I was wrecked from working on computer all day. I do NOT miss my former life, attached to the computer creating all day, every day. . . Though, if I am completely honest, being in the deep business end of things at the moment does have me thinking about some kind of course/coaching program/zoom sessions/ that could be a melange of guidance and tutorials on growing your practice and an art business, and manifestation. I have 26 years of experience as a creative business owner, and I have trudged through a lot of mud to make things happen. . . Just thinking out loud. It likely won't happen right away, but rolling things over in my head as I think about 4th quarter and beyond. Here's lesson number 1, that I am taking notes on as I write this post.: The simpler the framework, the more likely it is to happen, and happen sooner. KISS. 💋 keep it simple, stupid. . . A series of group mastermind sessions where I offer guidance, you can pick my brain and learn from a community of fellow creatives . . . 2. I picked flowers today, and then painted some in my class #thegestureofflowers, along side some amazing artists who worked on getting loose and gestural. . . Let's put it this way .....class was supposed to be one hour, but we were all having so much fun we painted for nearly two! . . The number 1 thing that has been working for me lately? . . . Hands down. COLLABORATION. . . . Today has been full of it. . . Started my day in a mastermind coaching group with @ericareitman and incredible women working to be the best they can be. Such give and take. Support. Vulnerability. Strength. Encouragement. Growth. Amazing. . . Then I enjoyed a video call with @bethsuterart to share info with each other about Zoom classes and recording classes and general art biz stuff, and throwing collaboration ideas around. We already know we work together well after our @auctionforaustralia, so we will surely have something up our sleeves soon. . . I'm catching up on my voice DMs with @wendylmcwilliamsart and @lesleygrainger. The wisdom, advice, and brainstorming that just happens naturally. Pure gold. Throw our Art Parties into the mix, with a bunch of other creatives from around the world, and as #Emeril would say. BAM. . . Challenge 4 of #gmsketchingfaces - trace a photo - I knew I wanted to add this tracing to my self care journal, it’s a journal that @beckabrun made for me a while ago. I haven’t shared any pictures from it earlier though. My intention was a page about reflection and stillness but then I started to fuzzy cut the florals. It’s from an old botanical book that I think @cayleegrey sent me. I did that cutting during a lovely #getmessyhangout earlier today and it took FOREVER. I’ve told you earlier about the pain I have in my hands, silly me ignored that when I started and my hands started to get more and more sore. Being an advocate of pacing, taking breaks and the #spoontheory in general I was pretty annoyed with myself even though I said nothing about it. The journaling says “… forget not… do not fuzzy cut big things again…”, “…breathe, take breaks, listen to your body…” and “Remember the spoons”.
