✨A few highlights from a beautiful week at the Montreux Jazz Residency ✨

Montreux has that special way of bringing people together. Between concerts, spontaneous jams and conversations, I loved reconnecting with familiar faces and discovering the people behind the music.

Such a pleasure to share these moments with @fatoumata_diawara__ @mcinelu @cammyg1 @makedakrish @jeanphidary_officiel @seanhaefeli @shanga @brian__jackson @vincen_garcia @afrakane @dvynxo @@bellanobre_ @kemani_anderson and many more. Thank you for your music, your generosity and everything you shared, on and off stage. So much inspiration to take home.

Thank you @stephaniealoysia_moretti @vivianeryra @mathieujaton and the whole @montreuxjazzfestival team for creating spaces where artists across generations and musical journeys can meet, exchange and become one through music. 🤍

Afra Kane —

Jazz holds a special place in my life, and her songs come alive in memories that I wrap myself in almost every day.

Afra Kane is an artist who is difficult to confine to a single genre. Her music exists somewhere between soul, jazz, blues, and the contemporary alternative scene — but what truly matters is not the genre, but the feeling.

Her voice sounds deep, intimate, and almost cinematic, while the piano becomes more than just an accompaniment — it becomes a voice of its own: alive, sensitive, and unpredictable.

There is a special sense of freedom in Afra Kane’s music. She is not afraid of silence, pauses, improvisation, or emotional vulnerability. Her songs seem to invite the listener to pause in the middle of a noisy world and spend a few moments alone with themselves.

Afra Kane is music about the inner world, the freedom to be yourself, and the beauty of the moment when feelings become sound.

THEY TRUST US
P-EAR-S proudly thanks the artists who trust our In-Ear Monitors through this portrait series — celebrating the voices, energy, and creativity that inspire us every day.

Afra Kane is an Italian-Nigerian singer-songwriter, producer, and classically trained pianist whose music blends soul, jazz, alternative pop, and cinematic influences into a deeply emotional and distinctive sound. After studying classical piano across Europe — in Italy, the UK, and Switzerland — she developed an artistic identity shaped by both technical mastery and cultural diversity.

Winner of the Montreux Jazz Talent Award 2019 and nominee for the Swiss Live Talents Award 2022, Afra Kane has performed on international stages across Europe, South America, and Asia, including Leverkusen Jazz Tage (Germany), Grand Teatro Nacional (Peru), and the ChilEuropa Jazz Festival in Santiago. Her performances are known for their powerful vocals, magnetic stage presence, and expressive piano playing.

Since the release of her debut EP Scorpio, she has toured internationally, opened for Jack Savoretti, headlined New York’s Rockwood Music Hall, and collaborated with artists such as Snarky Puppy and Anne Pacéo through the Montreux Jazz Academy. Her music has been supported by BBC Music Introducing, Jazz FM, and major European media outlets, while albums like Hypersensitive and Could We Be Whole have led to extensive international tours and critical acclaim.

Today, Afra Kane continues her journey as an independent artist, creating music that explores vulnerability, identity, resilience, and human connection.

JAZZ FACES @ UNITED BY JAZZ
@pasingerfabrik
Was verbindet Jazz und bildende Kunst?
