“Don’t be afraid to ask hard questions on the jobsite. You just might be the person to save a life.” 💙

As an indigenous tradeswoman with lived experience, Jessenia Rivera from AFSP’s Hudson Valley Chapter, understands the importance of mental health support and suicide prevention education on the jobsite.

The construction industry has one of the highest suicide rates in the U.S. compared to other industries and addressing the unique risk factors can save lives and improve the overall well-being of the workforce. 🚧

Flashback to our 2024 Walk, we had a great turnout amongst our community and we are hoping for an even bigger turnout this year!

Whether you walk in memory, support, or solidarity, your presence matters. Together, we can make a difference and #stopsuicide.

Last year, although the weather wasn’t on our side, our community came together to break the stigma and remind everyone that they are not alone.

Whether you walk in memory, support, or solidarity, your presence matters. Together, we can make a difference and #stopsuicide.

Last week, members from our chapter attended @afspnational’s Chapter Leadership Conference where we learned from and shared with staff and volunteers from AFSP chapters across the country.

We also took home two awards: for the NYC Marathon team and for the NYC Walk. 🏆

Thank you to all of our volunteers, runners, walkers and donors for contributing to our success in 2025!
