The brains behind your favourite sessions 😏 If you’ve been training with us for a while, chances are you’ve already felt Afton’s work in action. For the past few years, she’s been behind all of our programming, across group fitness, small group PT, Fit Over 50, Sweat, Strength & Conditioning and Mobility. Now, she’s stepping further into that role in 2026, continuing to refine our programs and level up our coaching team. Every six weeks, our coaches come together to run through the upcoming program, break down movements, and align on how we deliver every session. So no matter who you train with, you get the same high-quality experience. You can also catch her coaching at: ✔️ Small Group PT ✔️ 9:30am ✔️ Ladies Fit Over 50 at 10:30am

Teamwork makes the dream work 🫶🏻 What better way to jump on this trend than to re-introduce the team behind Rise & Shine. Aren’t we all so sweet and innocent? 😇

140KG FAIL ➡️ 145KG PB My client Afton came to me wanting one thing: PBs in the gym She was stuck at a 140kg deadlift even though she was training hard and doing most things “right”… After our first structured training block together, she didn’t just hit 140kg again… She hit it for 4 smooth singles and then locked in a 145kg PB in her testing week Here’s what we did 🔽 ▫️ Started following a structured training program built specifically around her goals. We increased her weights each week (progressive overload), added in the right accessory exercises to support her main lifts and focused on bringing up weak points instead of avoiding them ▫️ Sent in videos for feedback where we made small tweaks to her technique to ensure she was activating the right muscles to help her lift the weight (and avoid injuries) ▫️ She trained consistently. Not perfectly, just consistently. When life got in the way, we adjusted the plan instead of starting over or spiraling… ▫️ And she fuelled properly so her body actually had the energy to train well and recover between sessions She didn’t need to train more. She just needed better structure, a clear plan and support along the way She trusted the process, stayed locked in… and it paid off! If you’re stuck at the same numbers despite training hard, this is exactly the kind of work I do with my clients My DMs are open if you want to talk through your goals and what may need adjusting in order for you to push past that strength plateau 🚀

Fix your lat pull-down with these tips from Coach Afton👇 1️⃣ Pull your shoulders back and lift your chest so the bar taps the top of your chest. 2️⃣ Aim your keep your torso relatively still. A slight lean back is fine, but avoid over exaggerating it. 3️⃣ Control the eccentric phase (on the way back up). Take 2-3 seconds to return the bar with control. Give these cues a try at your next session & focus on smooth, controlled reps over heavy weight.

NEW SQUAT PATTERN 🔥
Here’s Coach Afton & Coach Hannah talking you through the Low Bar Back Squat — a more hip-dominant squat compared to the high bar / heel-elevated variation we’ve been using in our current program. 👀 Key differences:
🔹 Bar sits lower on the rear delts
🔹 Elbows + shoulders pulled back & down
🔹 Slightly wider stance
🔹 Torso leans forward more
🔹 Knees drive out You’ll see this variation popping up in our Wednesday Strength workout. Book in and come try it out!
