Who doesn’t like adorable puppets, giant tortoises, and great storytelling? Too much fun! 🐢🎭 Second-graders from 19 elementary schools took in Barefoot Puppet Theater’s award-winning presentation of “Galapagos George” last fall, thanks to a $4,900+ grant to Any Given Child Shenandoah Valley that supported artist fees and transportation costs.

🤩What. A. Night. So much fun, so much laughter, and so much money raised for equitable arts access for our students in the valley. Adult prom was the do-over we all needed! We went full-on 20s and had zero regrets!

This past weekend, Dr. Giardina and her husband Nick had the best time attending the Any Given Child Shenandoah Valley Adult Prom in celebration of their 10 year anniversary.

We were proud to sponsor an organization whose mission ensures equitable arts access for all K through 8 students in our community. Their vision, that every child experiences the transformative power of the arts during their education journey, is something Dr. G is especially passionate about. As someone who has always loved the arts herself, supporting a program that inspires creativity, confidence, and self expression in local children was an easy yes.

The evening was such a fun way to celebrate a decade of impact while continuing to invest in the future of students across the Shenandoah Valley. We are grateful to be part of a community that values creativity and believes every child deserves access to it.

🎭 See how community grants make a local impact! 🎭 Thanks to the Valley Arts & Culture Fund and the Mary Spitzer Etter Endowed Fund, more than 1,500 area second-graders in the city and county attended Barefoot Puppet Theater’s performance of “New Squid on the Block” over four-day span in October 2024. This was one of several learning opportunities hosted by Any Given Child Shenandoah Valley.

Stay tune for our 2025 community grant winners, TBA in November!

🤩Meet Team Sara: Grace Cash. Last, but certainly not least, is this sweet little diamond! 💎 How could we NOT put this gem on stage when her Mom is the current reigning Lip Sync Champion?!?

Grace loves music, movement, nature, and any sensory experience. She is going to have the opportunity as she grows to also benefit from the work of @agcshenvalley as it brings equitable arts access to this sweet little girl once she goes to school. 😍

Come TONIGHT and watch this perfect little one shine bright like a diamond! 🤩💎🤩 Don’t miss her breakout stage performance!
