📣 Hospitality needs a rebrand. Time to change the narrative.

@RyanPera, Chef & Co-Owner of @AgricoleHTX, wants the next generation to see what a career in this industry can actually look like.

Post-pandemic, the industry got a reputation as an industry to escape. Ryan sees another side: great leaders, great workplaces, and careers worth building.

The work now? Convincing the next generation why it’s worth joining.

🌭 Hot dogs and Frito pie FTW.

Chef @RyanPera (@AgricoleHTX) spent years in fine dining. Then one of his team’s biggest hits came from hot dogs, Frito pie, and a neighborhood bar.

After taking some big swings and learning from what didn’t work, Ryan and his partners opened @EZsLiquorLounge next door to @ColtivareHTX. No fine dining playbook. Just a simple concept they believed people would actually want.

Sometimes growth isn’t about doing more. It’s knowing when to strip an idea back to what works.

🏀 How is the kitchen like being on a sports team? Teamwork.

🎙️ @RyanPera, Chef & Co-Owner of @AgricoleHTX, compares great kitchen teamwork to “moving without the ball” in sports. It’s not just about your individual skills. It’s knowing what’s happening around you, anticipating what your teammates need, and stepping in without being asked. Without strong teams, Ryan believes a kitchen and the business behind it simply doesn’t work.

From @UNCChapelHill to NYC to HTX, Ryan learned the same lesson: talent matters, but a kitchen only works when the team works.

Tuesday I had the honor of coordinating an amazing event with some of the most amazing humans I know in one of my favorite places in Houston! For those of you that know me well, you know that @coltivarehtx and @agricolehtx are huge parts of how I became who I am professionally and their humans are huge parts of my family personally. To work in this amazing space again to raise over $60k for @ihwsh_tx to provide preventative Healthcare for uninsured hospitality workers... words can't describe the feeling! It was so amazing!! Thank you SO much to all of the amazing humans that helped make this event possible!!! I LOVE YOU ❤️
