some of my favorite meals in 2025! 🪅 @yangskitchenla cornmeal mochi pancake was truly a tasty treat. i never thought i could sit here thinking about pancakes as often as i have since eating this glorious creation. 🪅 @cameliadtla has a scallop and abalone pie that kind of changed the game for me as someone who recently found out that the are not in fact allergic to scallops or abalone. it’s a classic pot pie with all the buttery saucy goodness and perfectly cooked scallops and abalone pieces. 🤤 🪅 @lasafilipinocafe i frequented @hongningrestaurant with my family often growing up. this cafe is run by their daughter and offers rich bibingka topped with salted egg. light, fluffy, and the perfect with a coffee 🪅 @mustardsbagels i’m sad that i have to traverse to the (gasp) west side to get these sourdough bagels now, but they are worth a trek. the Deanna Michelle is inspired by @dintaifungusa’s cuke salad, and is so uniquely good with the spice from the chili oil, crunch from the cukes and flavor from the sourdough bagel. 🪅 @kimsunclepizza we called over 200+ times between 5 people to order this pizza, but it did indeed live up to the hype. the Italian beef pizza is served tavern style (my fave) with shredded Italian beef and spicy giardinare on their cracker-thin crust that takes 5 days to make. one of my favorite pizzas if all-time. 🪅 on a road trip in our campervan we stopped through Oklahoma to get our hands on an onion burger. it was that girl. no frills, tiny diner with ~5 seats, a guy slanging burgers all day, and a television that reports all the latest tornado news. 🪅 @tavernaatthemarvista is my new favorite Greek restaurant in all of LA. i love them for their Sunday roast menu, where they have lamb, chicken, and loukaniko on the spit. perfectly grilled, and, with a squeeze of lemon will send you into another universe and timeline. νόστιμο 🪅 @fflluuuffffyyyyssss has a banana split with a brûléed banana. unmatched. 🪅 el fogon the pork/asada tacos were worth a 2 mile walk in Mexico heat. 🪅 @delcorosehoagies the hoagie is delicious and the service is oh so kind. 🪅 @woonkitchen I ate these more than once this year. chewy bouncy noodles!

👋🏽 trying something different. here’s a road trip food diary from our time in santa fe this past may. in this post you’ll find some of my writing paired with photos of things we ate along the way. i feel like I’ve been sitting on my hands instead of leaning into art & expression considering… *gestures to everything around us*. i wanted to pay homage to the places we’ve had the fortune of visiting, the meals we’ve shared and the people who made them in a way that doesn’t feel contrived or like I’m trying to influence you to buy something. lmk what you think of this! maybe i’ll share more on my food/travel page @hoyimhungry. 🫶🏽
