🥳 Results are in for #ScattergoriesTuesday! We had 12 players this week. So much synergy! Though a couple people did well. Here are the results (perfect score is 9):
🥇7 points — @AnaWhim & @BoardGameReviewUK
🥈5 points — @AhBoardGames Adam
🥉4 points — @BoardGameGlimmers, @Sapphire1751 & @SmallFriesGames
3 points — @MarkPlaysGreen, @TryWinGames & Me! 😇
2 points — @Shelley_And_Family
1 point — @CampingMeeple
0 points — @AhBoardGames Hayley 😱

The letters were T, A & Y
👿 Notorious People: Adolph Hitler & Al Capone tied for most popular, but with only 3 votes each. There were a few pairs as well: Trump (Donald), Annes (Boleyn & Bonny), Yasser Arafat & Yeltsin (Boris).
🎃🍁 Things That Bring You Joy This Time of Year: Trick-or-treating (& one treaters) & autumn things (3 leaves, 1 autumnal colors & 1 just autumn) tied for most popular with 5 votes each. There were also several pairs: travelling, trees/trees changing, apples/apple pies, yellow things (corn & foliage) & yodelling. @AnaWhim sucked up to the judge with “you.” ☺️
🍦 Sour Food: Yogurt/Yoghurt was most popular with 6 votes (1/2 of us!). Apple foods (cider vinegar, sauce, sour & 2 just apples) were 2nd with 5 votes. There were a couple of pairs in T: Tangfastics & tarts. 2 people completely blanked on sour foods! 😮 Of course, one of them thought the category was “soul foods,” which I agree would be challenging. 🤣 I gave them the opportunity to guess for the proper category, but they claimed being too fried mentally to come up with anything for that either. 😬
▫️▫️▫️
There were a couple of disqualifications this week, all for sour foods. 2 people (including me) desperately guessed asparagus, only to discover that it isn’t sour unless it’s spoiled. 😝 And one person guessed absinthe, which isn’t sour unless you add something to it. 🫤

🥳 Results are in for #ScattergoriesTuesday! We had 10 players this week. So many duplicates! But a few people found some original ideas. Here are the results (perfect score is 9):
🥇7 points — @AhBoardGames Adam
🥈6 points — @AhBoardGames Hayley
🥉5 points — @AnaWhim
3 points — @CampingMeeple, @LaughingMan.NJ & Me! 😇
2 points — @MarkPlaysGreen & @SmallFriesGames
1 point — @Sapphire1751 & @TryWinGames
▫️▫️▫️
The letters were K, V & J
🧹 Household Chores: Vacuuming was hugely popular with 7 votes. Nothing else got more than 2 votes, but there were a lot of pairs: killing things (bugs & cockroaches), kitchen cleaning, knick-knack dusting, jet washing (including patios) & junk tasks (drawer decluttering & elimination).
💪🏻 Things Found in Your Body (Naturally): Joints were most popular with 5 votes. Varicose veins were 2nd with 3 votes. There were several pairs too: ketones, knuckles, vena cavas & jugulars. Surprisingly, no one guessed kidneys, but maybe that’s because…
🥫 Canned Food: Kidney beans were most popular with 5 votes. Jalapeños were 2nd with 3 votes. There were a few pairs here too: kippers, vegetables/veggie soups, jellied eels & jelly.
▫️▫️▫️
There were several disqualifications this week. Difficult letter/category combos led to some desperate guessing. In chores, cleaning is spelled with a C, not K; “just” doing something — even if it’s the dishes — doesn’t cut it; & “joy sparking,” while a clever nod to Marie Kondo’s decluttering strategy, is not an actual chore — if you only spark joy, you’re not successfully decluttering. 😂 Then in canned food, I could find no indication that vermicelli (cooked or otherwise) or juniper berries could be canned. 😬

4 points — @BoardGameGlimmers
▫️▫️▫️
The letters were S, R & N
🌟 Movie/TV Stars: Rob/Robert (Schneider & 2 Redfords) were most popular, but with only 3 votes. There were also a couple pairs: Robin Williams & Nick (Nolte & Offerman). No duplicates in S! There were some duplicate people pairs that did not get cancelled out due to people using the 1st or last names: Susan Sarandon, Ronald Reagan & Robert Redford. 😮
🌌 Things Found in Space: Nebulae/Nebulas were most popular with 4 votes. Satellites & Neptune tied for 2nd with 3 votes each. There were also several pairs: radiation, rocks, nitrogen & novas.

▫️▫️▫️

🥳 Results are in for #ScattergoriesTuesday! We had 9 players this week. So much originality for some really high scores, though a few still suffered from thinking alike. Here are the results (perfect score is 9):
🥇8 points — @AhBoardGames Adam & Hayley & @Shelley_And_Family
🥈7 points — @CampingMeeple & Me! 😇
🥉6 points — @TryWinGames
5 points — @Sapphire1751
4 points — @SmallFriesGames
3 points — @MarkPlaysGreen

The letters were H, M & I
🎶 Song Titles: Only one duplicate! A pair of “I Wanna” songs (Be Yours & Dance with Somebody). I’m more impressed that no one blanked on song titles. I know I struggled with it. 😂
💦 Things You Should Not Get Wet: Only a few pairs here: halogen things (bulbs & lamps), headphones & matches.
🍅 Recipes with Tomatoes: Meatloaf was the only answer to get more than 2 votes this week, but still only 3. There were pairs for each letter as well: hot dishes (pot & sauce), margherita pizzas & Italian dishes (meatballs & wedding soup). Foods that start with “I” caused the most difficulty, with 4 blanks.
▫️▫️▫️
There were a few disqualifications this week. One person thought hedgehogs shouldn’t get wet, & while it’s not good for them to soak in water or remain wet, they can take baths safely. This person also guessed ingots shouldn’t get wet, but metal bars are also safe in water. And then someone else guessed “bloody Mary” for tomato recipe, which clearly starts with B. 😆

It’s #wildcardwednesday again. Today @ahboardgames want to know our favorite Up in Space games. Space, stars and planets is one of my favorite themes in boardgames. I chose Planet Unknown by @strohmanngames. It’s a very cool tile placement game where you choose one tile from the lazy S.U.S.A.N. rondel and place it on your planet grid.

#wildcardwednesday is hosted by @han_playsgames

Each tile has two different elements. you can advance the tracker of this element then and gain points, goods or the rover.
Each round you draw an event card which can be easy, medium or hard difficulty, depending on the set up you chose.

Every round you can chose between two tiles from Lazy S.U.S.A.N. The tiles have different shapes and elements.

The letters were V, A & H
🎻 Gifts/Presents: Violins were most popular, but with only 3 votes. There were a couple of pairs: vases & amethysts/amethyst pendants. No duplicates in H. I thought it was funny that so many people had very expensive tastes in gifts, with a couple of cars, a helicopter from @AhBoardGames Adam & a hacienda from @CampingMeeple. 😂🤑
🧑‍🧒 Things at a Party: Aunts/aunties were most popular with 3 votes. Only one other duplicate, a pair of helium balloons. No duplicates in V.
