This Saturday, we are excited to close out the 2026 GLOW Global Cohort with Session Five: GLOW Forward: Relationships, Opportunities, and Impact ✨

During this special closing session, our GLOW alumnae + Coaching Fellows will join us for a powerful fireside conversation moderated by WEN Founder, Carlisha Bradley. Together, they will reflect on their GLOW journeys, share how they have leveraged the relationships, skills, and opportunities gained through the program, and offer insight into the many paths leadership can take beyond the cohort experience.

Through intentional reflection and connection, cohort members will explore how to continue building meaningful relationships, creating opportunities, and growing within the GLOW Global network long after the program ends. 🌍

I and my friend were chatting about our undergrad days not long ago and we all had this one struggle in common - we weren't exactly happy about the courses we were studying. I mean, I was studying Early Childhood Education and to be honest, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

We all just kind of went with the flow, didn't really understand the value of our courses, and it took us a while to figure things out.

But here's the thing - once we graduated and started working, we realized that our courses were so much more than just what we thought they were. For me, Early Childhood Education isn't just about teaching kids in a classroom, it's about shaping young minds and making a difference in their lives and a whole wide world of ECE beyond classroom.

That's why my friend Ahmodu Blessing and I decided to start an initiative called Empower U Global. We want to empower young minds to understand the true value of their courses and the opportunities that come with them. And we're starting with our own field - Early Childhood Education.

We're hosting a seminar titled "Early Childhood Education: Challenges, Opportunities, and Future Directions" on August 21st 2025 online, and we're inviting everyone who's interested to join in.

Dr Sarah Aiono an amazing Early Childhood Educator and policy advocate would you be our guest speaker.

Whether you're an educator, a student, or just someone who's passionate about early childhood education, we want you to be there!

It's going to be a great opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with others who share our passion. So mark your calendars and let's do this!

The virtual Youth Consultation on Education Investment happened and what an inspiring session it was 🤗. I’m so glad to have co-led this important conversation alongside fellow @gpforeducation Youth Leaders from Africa, with over 160 youth participants joining from across the continent.

We tackled key questions on the barriers to quality education, how better funding can address these challenges and why investing in education is crucial for a more just, peaceful and sustainable world. These bold questions are a guide to shape a unified Youth Statement for the GPE Replenishment Campaign. This statement will be a global call from youth especially from low- and middle-income countries urging leaders to invest in education systems that truly prepare us for life, work and leadership.

💬 Youth shared the biggest barriers to education:

– Poverty and financial constraints
– under trained & lack of motivation for teachers
– Weak/poor infrastructure (e.g., textbooks, classrooms, disability access)
– Gender disparities, especially affecting girls when it comes to access to education
– Low parental engagement in learning
- war & Conflict limiting access to education
- Climate Change

We also explored how increased and better-targeted funding could help things like improving school infrastructure, teacher training and motivation, grant schemes and making schools more inclusive.

This is why investment in education is important, Education is a human right and a foundation for economic growth, career readiness, social justice, political awareness and sustainable development.

Massive thanks to all youth who participated in this consultation, my incredible co-leads @samantharahamaumar , Becky , Hope & Shammim and to @theglobaltemi for the solid support from planning to execution. 🙌

Now, our reflections will be turned into action through a powerful Youth Statement that will shape the GPE Replenishment Campaign. I invite you for a global consultation which will happen this month to conclude on the statement for youth by the youth because Education is an our agenda 🤭.

I’m happy to invite you to a virtual youth consultation session that I’ll be co-leading with my fellow @gpforeducation Youth Leaders from Africa, to shape a powerful Youth Statement that will be presented as part of the GPE Replenishment Campaign and we need your voice.

This statement will be a united call from youth around the world especially from low and middl income countries urging global leaders, donors and policymakers to invest in education systems that truly prepare us for life, work and leadership in today’s rapidly changing world.

2024 was the year everything truly happened – academic and professional achievements I had only dreamed of.

I’m so grateful for every challenge, lesson, and opportunity.

At the same time we have witnessed the rise of global warming and countless climate disasters worldwide. For me, this year marks the beginning of a lifelong purpose and an unstoppable journey toward a fair future for all.
