I am so looking forward to welcoming back to New York, my long time collaborator, and dear, dear friend, Priyantha Udagedara for his second solo exhibition at Aicon Contemporary “Earthly Paradise”, opening on November 4th, 2026. The show will be on view through December 12th, 2026.

Udagedara’s work explores themes of colonial history, cultural memory, and the relationship between nature and human intervention. His art often delves into the complexities of postcolonial identity, using nature as a symbolic medium to address the lingering impacts of colonialism while celebrating the resilience and beauty of the natural world.

He has a PHD in Philosophy in Contemporary Fine Art Practice, as well as a Master’s Degree in Contemporary Art and Design Practice from the Faculty of Arts and Design, Leeds Metropolitan University.

I look forward to spending some time with my friend!
