Meet our beautiful art department, a group of people who worked tirelessly to bring @iludoss_ ’ and my insane imagination to life.

@aif_albin came in at the last minute as a set dresser, and I could not be more grateful for her. Her attention to detail and dark imagination took the set to another level. The set dressing for Big Break was a big lift, and I don’t actually think we could have done it without her.

@iamdanimalz first joined the production as a PA but soon became the right hand of Ludo and Aurora and an invaluable part of building and dressing the set. She jumped in, understood the world we were trying to create, and got to work. I actually barely saw her on set because she was always working hard on stringing up intestines, hanging jerky, or organizing books.

@studioputter worked closely with me behind the scenes and created all of the horror/sfx props that were on set. From negotiating how many body parts we could fit into jars to in-depth discussions about how to cut skin, our messages out of context would have us looking very suspicious. Without her, big break would simply be a short film, without the horror.

Roderik has been a part of Big Break since the very beginning. He is the definition of above and beyond; he made a few custom pieces for this film and dug through many thrift stores for the rest. Oftentimes stuck away in the attic ironing, doing last-minute alterations, or staining a shirt with cold coffee, Rik is the brains behind each character’s look and a huge part of how these characters came to life.

@kareguai was our resident hair and makeup artist. Locked up in her own little office, oftentimes the only calm area on the whole set. Nissy achieved the impossible every day: doing hair and makeup for five actors. Not only is she a joy to be around and is incredibly kind, Nissy has such an attention to detail that every winged liner was always on point.

Thank you all so much for all of your hard work, your creativity, and kindness on set! The world you brought to life was even better than I could have imagined. 🖤

Xoxo,

*A cure for the post production depression not included*

Stay tuned for more BTS, the process of it all, and of course…Big Break lore 🖤

Femme
Dir. Nina Noël Raaijmakers
Screened for Final Girls Berlin Film Festival

After her first, uncomfortable sexual experience the body of the young woman Fem is undergoing disturbing changes.

I first got to experience Femme at Mayhem Film Festival back in October 2025 and to see it again as part of Final Girls Berlin has reminded me of just how incredible this body horror short truly is.

Fem has recently joined a shared dormatory and in a terrifying initiaition, their new flatmates insist the bedroom door be removed. To regain privacy, they must sleep with someone. This is a truly harrowing premise; to not only be thrown into the unknown at shared accommodation but then be humiliated and pressured into an act such as this is unimaginable.

With a theme of reclaiming the power of your body after the choice has been ripped away, this short truly hits where it needs to. It's raw in the approach of tackling this, both in narrative and the body horror that unfolds.

A hazy yellow colour palette washes over the film with a warm glow, acting as a visual counter balance for the inescapable dark undertones. I loved the practical effects too; adding a layer of viscera to perfectly encapsulate the traumatic experiences of Fem.

Nola Elvis Kemper is great as Fem; I couldn't help but feel for her character. However like every true final girl, she comes out swinging in the end. If you're a fan of empowering filmmaking with a body horror edge, be sure to add Femme to your watchlist.

Rushes of a Killer is in the can. 🎬

11 images from a day that reminded me why I fell in love with filmmaking in the first place. Shooting on Super 8mm is a unique experience. Humbling, exciting, terrifying, and deeply inspiring all at once. No instant playback, no safety net. Just trust in your preparation, your crew, and the magic happening inside that little cartridge.

The film stock is now off to be developed and scanned, so we won’t have much to share for a while. In the meantime, enjoy these BTS photos with a filter attempting to capture what only celluloid can. We’ll let the real thing speak for itself soon enough.

This wouldn’t have happened without an incredible team, the endless support of @timkoomen237 and our home @bloodravefilms, the pen of the always magical @marcnollkaemper and the eye of the great @fafavienne plus every single person who believed in this project enough to back it through @voordekunst

To my crew: thank you for bringing your talent, energy, and patience to a format that demands all three. And to everyone who contributed to the crowdfunding, you made this possible. Literally. This one’s for you.

More soon. 🎞️

Amantes (2022)
official selection NFF

Short film about grieving, heartbreak, the fight between letting go and keeping control. The road to acceptance. Eleonor (26) withdraws from the outside world, disappearing into herself and a special meeting with Finn(28) follows. Confused, but convinced, she completely surrenders to him again. But wasn't all this a delusion to fill the gap of his absence?
