💸 How much money could be slipping through the pipes?

When your artists’ music crosses borders, so do their rights. But navigating different territories, Collective Management Organisations (CMOs) and international collection systems can be complex. And that’s where income can easily go uncollected.

In our upcoming Masterclass, we’ll take a practical look at how international rights management and collections work, what needs to be in place and where things can go wrong.

Through real-world scenarios and case studies, we’ll explore how managers can approach rights administration more effectively and make sure valuable income doesn’t get left behind.

🤝 Our partner, @unison_rights, is a music rights management company that helps rights holders manage, track and collect their royalties internationally, combining technology and expertise to make the complex world of music rights easier to navigate.

If you manage artists working across borders, this is one session to have on your radar.

EXCITED! And delighred to be on this journey with @aim.ireland 🫰🏼#BrightNightsBigCity was a much needed reminder that so many of us are working towards the same goal.

Dublin is thriving, but it can do better. Let’s keep talking about it but actually go out and make a difference too. Show up for culture. Try something new. Move beyond your own circles. Take risks. Create art and share it with your community in real life. If you have space to give: actively seek out people who need it these spaces. If you have money to spare, buy advance tickets. There’s so much to love about Dublin, go fall back in love with it.

And to the policy and decision makers… you’ll be hearing from me 🧚🏼‍♀️💚

We’re looking forward to 22 September as Bright Nights, Big City comes to the National Concert Hall.

Presented by @aim.ireland and @dublincitycouncil, the day will bring together leaders from across music, culture, hospitality, tourism, government and city development to explore the future of Ireland’s night-time economy.

We’re particularly looking forward to “Grassroots to Arenas”, exploring how we can strengthen the pipeline from local venues to national stages, with Edel Curtin (Live Venue Collective), Jamie O’Grady (MCD), Paddy Dunning (Button Factory / Temple Lane) and Ahmed with Love (Artist), moderated by Joe Clarke (CWB).

A full day of discussion, ideas and collaboration around building a vibrant, sustainable and thriving night-time economy in Ireland!

Less than five days to go 🌙

Really looking forward to leading Dublin City Council’s involvement in Bright Nights, Big City. Dublin’s first dedicated night-time economy conference alongside our partners at AIM Ireland, and with the support of the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport.

We’ve brought together a brilliant mix of voices from Dublin and across Ireland, alongside international perspectives from Amsterdam, Spain and the UK.

Tickets have been sold out for weeks, which is fantastic to see. There’s clearly a real appetite for a serious conversation about the future of our city after dark.

I’ll also be joining the international panel to share some of Dublin’s experience and hear what we can learn from other cities.

See you Tuesday.

Two weeks to go 🌙

Really happy with how Bright Nights, Big City is shaping up.

What is the future of the Dublin pub?
How do we get from grassroots venues to arenas?
Are our clubs safe spaces?
Who is the city at night actually for?
What are we still missing from culture after dark?
And what can major events do for Dublin?

On 22 September, we’re bringing together national and international voices from pubs, clubs, music, culture, health, security, major events and policy for a full day looking at the future of Dublin — and cities more generally — after dark.

Lots more still to announce.

⭕️ Good News!

We've extended the deadline for the European Music Managers Survey until 📆 August 15, giving more managers across Europe the chance to take part.

Here's how things currently stand:

🥇 Netherlands
🥈 Spain
🥉 France
4️⃣ Germany
5️⃣ Ukraine

A huge thank you to everyone who has already contributed.

We're still hoping to hear from more managers in:

🇨🇿 Czechia
🇬🇪 Georgia
🇷🇴 Romania
🇸🇮 Slovenia
🇭🇺 Hungary
🇮🇸 Iceland
🇱🇹 Lithuania
🇧🇬 Bulgaria
🇭🇷 Croatia

…And every other country where more managers can still make a difference.

Whether you manage one artist or twenty, whether music management is your full-time job or something you do alongside other work, your perspective matters.

The more complete the survey, the stronger the evidence we have to advocate for better support, funding, training and opportunities for music managers across Europe.

📝 It only takes around 10 minutes.

📅 New deadline: August 15.

Sometimes one conversation, one introduction, or one person hearing your music at the right moment can change everything.

Niall McCabe talks about the impact attending YRAS can have on an artist’s career. Not just through the showcases, but through the relationships, opportunities, and community that grow around them.

Because artists need more than a stage. They need people in the room who are ready to listen, connect, and help move things forward.
