Throwback to my last DNOA production, and farewells to the team (slide to read more!) ❤️ ~ Příhody lišky Bystroušky ~ Janáček 📍 Amare, The Hague A production of @dutch_national_opera_academy 📅 24 and 27 June 2026 Already three months have passed since I left the home of DNOA. A place that felt so warm and exciting at times, so overwhelmingly intense and challenging at others, but overall the most fulfilling experience I have ever had, which allowed me to grow so much both as an artist and as a person. ❤️ This last production in particular was such a powerful and emotionally intense experience for me: my first leading role, our Cunning Little Vixen, but most of all, a character that taught me so much about how to be fearlessly and unapologetically myself on stage, like a joyful child in a playground. And I am certain that, from now on, Bystrouška will be a part of every other character I will have the chance to embody in the future. 🦊❤️ But all of that wouldn’t have been possible without the fabulous team of people we were surrounded by. First of all, I would like to give an extra-special thank you, once again, to our fantastic stage director, Daniel van Klaveren (@danielrvk ), for making this production such a magical and unforgettable experience, always bringing the most positive, caring, yet amazingly effective energy. The next generations of DNOA students are so lucky to have you! A huge thank you to Paul McNamara (@paulmcberlin ) for believing in me so much from the very first day, just as much during my moments of greatest doubt as during the successful ones. I will always admire his talent for coming up with the most unexpected — but every time, spot-on — operas for his students, as well as the care and attention he gives to every single one of us. Thank you so much for trusting me to end this adventure with such a special role. Thousands of bravos and thank-yous to Maddalena Deichmann (@smadpro ) for her colossal work behind our crazy schedules, while somehow remaining the sweetest and most considerate person. Thank you to Peter Nilsson (@nilssonindenhaag ) for generously sharing his immense musical knowledge with us in an atmosphere that was

✨To the Bursary and Beyond!🌠 📖Read about 2023 Veronica Dunne Bursary recipient Aimee Kearney's experience of the Bursary competition and what she has been up to since! “Winning this bursary at such a pivotal moment in my education meant that I could continue to study and expand my musical horizons in Ireland and internationally. The money and support allowed me to improve my language skills, visit teachers and coaches in Ireland and abroad, and attend regular vocal physio therapy to keep my voice in good shape. I was therefore vocally ready and financially able to audition for the Dutch National Opera Academy, whereby I studied a masters in opera performance from 2024-2026. At the time of the awards, I had recently graduated from my undergrad at the RIAM, and was not fully sure what the next steps for me would be. So to receive such concrete support, feedback and encouragement from an esteemed jury and organisation whilst at this crossroads was invaluable to me, and indeed set me on the path I am on now. Since winning the bursary, I have performed with companies such as The Blackwater Valley Opera Festival, Nederlands Reisopera and Grote Zangers, and in major theatres and concert halls including Wigmore Hall, National Concert Hall and Het Concertgebouw. To every young singer and emerging artist from and based in Ireland: I urge you to apply for this wonderful bursary!" ⏳There are still 10 days left to apply to take part in the 2026 Veronica Dunne Bursary for Young Irish Singers! Apply today via YAP Tracker.com (🔗 in bio). ⏰Deadline: Friday 16th October 2026, 11.59 PM @aimeekearneysoprano #operasingersofinstagram #irish #YoungSinger #ireland #operasinger #opera #yaptracker

BVOF 2026 IN DAS OPERNGLAS 🖤❤️💛 Blackwater Valley Opera Festival features in the latest edition of German opera magazine Das Opernglas, following their visit to Lismore during this year's festival. The review takes in Don Giovanni at Lismore Castle, Acis and Galatea at St Carthage's Cathedral and our Cushendall recital at Villierstown - capturing something of the range of music, artists and settings that shaped BVOF 2026. Among the highlights from their review: 🎭 Don Giovanni - described as “a picture-book Don Giovanni”, with Jolyon Loy praised for bringing “the full seductive power of his splendid baritone voice” to the title role. ✨ Acis and Galatea - Handel’s pastoral opera at St Carthage’s Cathedral was hailed as “an enchanting rendition”, performed in one of the most distinctive settings of festival week. 🎶 Cushendall Recital - Sharon Carty and Benjamin Russell were praised for “a lively interpretation”, Carty for her “clearly focused, agile mezzo-soprano” and Russell for a “sonorous, virile baritone” combining “excellent technical control with exemplary diction”. A wonderful piece of international coverage for BVOF 2026, bringing the festival - and Lismore - to readers across Germany. Read our English translation of the full review on the BVOF website. 🔗Link in bio. 📸 Frances Marshall #BVOF2026 #DasOpernglas #IrishOpera #VisitWaterford #IrelandsAncientEast
