This morning we visited the studio of multi-disciplinary artist @connor.weight

We enjoyed his wide, diverse body of work and heard about some of his explorations with approaches to painting - mediums, concepts and even playing with the distance from the canvas.

Thank you Connor, we are honored to have spent some time with you today and look forward to seeing more of your work! #runclun #artistrunclubslc #saltlakecityartist

🔥 Join us in celebrating the inaugural winners of our Artist Marketing Grant, a new professional development program designed to equip artists with marketing strategy and tactical skills, along with an opportunity to put those skills into action.

Originally intended for two recipients in its first year, we expanded the slate of winners to four artists due to an overwhelmingly positive response—and because we simply cannot help ourselves from doing more!

Over the course of the year, we will be conducting studio visits and strategy consults and designing a custom ad campaign for each artist.

The lineup includes:

🌟 Johnny Draco @johnnydraco_
“My work centers the presence, dignity, and evolving identities of Black figures through a visual language that blends character design, architecture, and ancestral memory. I create worlds where silhouettes, masks, patterns, and atmospheric spaces act as vessels for heritage. Each figure becomes an intersection of my lived experience.”

🌟 Aimee Odum @aimeeodum
“My work is about our evolving relationship with technology and the natural world. By fusing ceramics and new media, I reference one of the oldest forms of technology with contemporary progressions. Combining the ancient craft of clay with artificial intelligence, digital screens, and social media, I highlight how the human compulsion and obsession with touch span both mediums.”

🌟 Lily Reeves @reevesstudios
“Lily Reeves is a sculptor of light and energy, crafting immersive experiences that transcend discipline and tradition. Rooted in the mythic landscapes of the American Southwest... Her work is an act of redefinition and reclamation—elevating neon beyond its commercial past and recasting it as a vessel for myth-making, place-making, and collective transformation.”

🌟 Nathan Storey @___nathans
“My interdisciplinary studio practice traces the relationship between printed matter and queer memory, liberation, and loss. I investigate how print has served both as a tool in moments of reckoning and emergency, and as a deeply intimate material—something we hold, pass between friends, and tuck away in boxes and drawers.”
