Don’t miss it! The small booklets distributed at the venue are masterpieces of DIY bookbinding created by students in the Faculty of Design at OPU. They were completed through a collaborative effort that began with risograph printing, folding, and collating at the Uno Editors, followed by sewing binding. The blue of the ink and thread evokes the flow of water that was always present alongside Sam and katrinem as they walked. Please be sure to take a copy home with you. The exhibition will also travel to Studio GROSS in Tokyo. In addition, registration is now open for a sound walk in Yokohama. We invite you to join us in this endeavor to think with your ears and listen to the world alongside these two artists. @koias_kobeuniversity @samauinger @katrinem_27 @besenballett @mao_matsuyama @kiito2017 @studio_gross @airk.kobe #神戸雰囲気学研究所 #thinkingwiththeears #samauinger #katrinem

A Sound of Harvest Kita-ku | Kobe | September 2026 Today we experienced the rice harvest in the countryside outside Kobe. It was wonderful to see how carefully everything is organized—from harvesting to drying, cleaning, and packing. The video captures one moment in this process: freshly harvested rice pouring from a container on the trailer, heading to the drying machine. For a moment, the harvest becomes a rushing stream of grain. #RiceHarvest #Kobe #Japan #Soundscape #RuralJapan

Today, we bought two brooms in Kobe. During our walk through the city, katrinem began to play them on a pedestrian bridge by the harbor. Bristles meet the surface.
Walking becomes rhythm.
An everyday tool begins to sound. A spontaneous moment — and part of the preparations for our upcoming performances, soundwalks, and exhibitions in Kobe, Tokyo, and Yokohama. #thinkingwiththeears #broom #instrument #soundart #kobe
