Little behind the scenes @revelstokemtnresort Feb/ March ‘25. Came in to crank out the venue prep and bring up the @skidoo gear from the Tetons for @naturalselectionsnow . I get asked what exactly I do for them, and still haven’t been able to define moving into year six, but I’ll take the title “fixer” as suggested by @clarkfyans . Everything from building take offs, clearing landings, getting equipment on venue, to cliffside branding, to start and finish prep. In between we do quite a bit of boot packing and course prep to ensure the best set up for the best snowboarding… schedule turn around is tight these days, having to prep and leave before the event even begins so that we could get up to Alaska for the @naturalselectionski venue recon and camp set up…let me know if ya wanna see more and I’ll put together some bts from AK. honor and a privilege to be working with this crew, can’t wait to do it again🙌🏼

Fall lap down Boulder with @airtime11.

Boondocker and Gravy Bacon are some of my favourite trails. Aaron originally built Gravy Bacon in 2008/2009. It’s cool to ride and talk to the people who build these trails and get some insight into the history. I remember my mind being blown by Boulder when I first rode here and it was a big factor in deciding to move to Revelstoke.

Now that the snow has returned and people’s (including my own) moods have improved, I wanted to take a moment to shout out to the @revycatcrew and my boy @airtime11 for keeping the resort alive in a low snow year and major drought during January and February. Without the hard work and dedication of this incredible crew, the mountain would have been in dire straits over those months.

Many of you may not know this but I was a groomer for many years and understand what goes into the long nights, big projects and unknown troubleshooting that goes along with the nightly grooming shifts. This (mostly) thankless job takes technical skills, knowledge of how snow behaves at different temperatures, and how to get the most out of the snowcats. But without these nighttime heroes, whose lights you can see twinkling like stars on the mountain on a clear night, the days where it doesn’t snow would be much less enjoyable without their collective efforts.

Next time you see a groomer , either starting or finishing a shift, make sure to thank them loudly and in front of a lot of people. They will hate it because they enjoy lurking in the shadows, but they will also appreciate that what they do makes a difference to all skiers on the mountain.
