When my father passed almost 11 years ago, I admit, I did NOT know how to cope. I was 22 years old and trying to figure out life as a young man. The first year was definitely the hardest. There were pressures of stepping in as “man of the house”, dropping in and out of college, friendship/relationship struggles, and I just did not know who I was anymore. So I did what most people do when they don’t want to deal with life, I numbed myself 🥃🍻💊🍃 in hopes that all my worries would go away. But, they didn’t go away. They just kept piling on and following me. I eventually realized that if I didn’t make a change, I’d probably be...well, I rather not think about that. It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom in some of the most depressing and darkest times in my life when I asked myself, “Jason, you have to make a change bro! What is on your bucket list? 🤔 Well, I’d really love to run a marathon some day!” Then it all clicked.💡So, I bought myself a pair of running shoes, started training 🏃🏻 and the rest was history. I had found a PASSION and love for running. A new, healthier way to cope with the loss of my dad. A way that not only helped me practice self-care but discipline. I finally learned to LOVE myself MORE. I guess you can say that Marathon running and the training it takes became my healthy addiction! I truly believe that when you change your mindset and perspective about how you see life, you will find clarity, peace, and purpose. You will find your WHY and it will help you appreciate all the good things and great people in your life. If you want to make a CHANGE, you have to be brave and willing. You are stronger than you know. Blessings and love to you all. ♥️

I wanted to send some love to @jackylamlam & @_christina.victoria_ for inspiring me with their recent posts of their race finishes. It motivated me to finally open a box I had laying around with these bad boys 🏅🏅, dust them off and hang them up. They are a reminder that when life gets tough, all I have to do is look up and remember the journey it took to get where I am today. Thank you ladies and I hope to run alongside you in a race someday! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🤙🏻🙌🏼
