We wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our first birthday with us. It has been one hell of a year and we couldn’t have done it without all of you. And of course, nothing great happens without an incredible team of people behind the scenes. Big love to the Darling team, @meadowlarkjewellery, @somedaystudios, @peddlersgin, @drink_pals, @redbullnz, @moethennessy, @cloudybay, @ruinart, @thewhisperingangel. Thanks to all the DJs who kept the dance floor going all night @cal.ske, @statehouse__, @macmylo, @zarcali, @dylanbiscuit, @ajhoneysuckle, and to the team capturing it all @masonbennettdp, @klawsss and @____clarajane 🌹🌹🌹

Over the weekend we hosted three of the Waulking Song artists. Thanks for helping us welcome Madison, Sylvan, and Arielle to soft shell at the shared lunch. It was lovely to spend some time in the sun with everyone. In addition to connecting our communities and seeing a few other spaces, this was an opportunity for the artists to spend time with each other and see where their research interests overlap. We walked, talked, rhythmed, read, and even had a go at waulking on a small scale. Waulking Song is open on Thursday and Friday from 10am-5:30pm and on Saturday from 10am-2pm. This is the final week of the exhibition! This project is part of Jordan Davey-Emms’ curatorial internship, soft shell, which occupies Te Tuhi’s Parnell Project Space until March 2025. Ngā mihi to visiting artists @mfmkelly @cocteau____twink @_arielle_walker_ and @tetuhiart our shared lunch friends @em.ily.parr @numanaturesgentleman @edith_amituanai @ss.murch @giuliapianelliart @jeenashin @samanthahaha.cheng and the galleries we visited on Saturday @gusfishergallery @sancgallery 🐚✨✨✨✨🦎🥁

"the chair is from a whakataukī “Tama tū Tama ora, Tama noho Tama mate” which is used in alot of kōrero about resistance. In the chair ive changed it to read “Tama noho, kia tau” which is like “oi boy, sit and rest” sorta to say there is still resistance in rest/reflection - an idea my mate Piupiu talks about in her work." Our Instagram Post are being SHADOW BANNED by Meta which is going to make it more difficult to organise our community. This means that you can only share the post to stories and cannot post on your page to help spread the word. We have a work around for this if you DM / message us directly we can send you the information to share. Don’t give up. I know we won’t. Interisland Collective.
