I don’t think Akara ever imagined that a day would come when it would be filled with minced meat. 😂 @akara_cafe, I salute thee! 🙌

Y’all got something good going on! I REALLY enjoyed my brunch. To think their menu is so affordable, and the food still bangs!

With the way the French toast got me, I might be stopping by the café again soon.

If you’re in Abuja and you don’t know @akara_cafe, you’re missing out big time!

And if you’ve ever gotten anything from them, what’s your favourite thing on the menu?

MY TOTAL BILL (Excluding delivery)

1. Meaty Akara (5 pieces) - N1,500
2. French toast (2 thick slices) - N1,500
3. Paper bag - N1,500

PS.: Be like @vivien_ogar. Pray that your steps will always be ordered by God.

We have taken note of the concerns raised by a former Street Foodz Naija contestants @akaraexpress and believe in responding with facts, transparency and empathy.

Based on our experience from past editions, Street Foodz Naija has evolved from a grant-based competition into an investment-focused platform designed to help street food entrepreneurs build stronger, better-governed and sustainable businesses.

Our mission is bigger and more meaningful than handing out prizes, it is about celebrating Nigeria’s food, preserving our cultural heritage and helping people behind these businesses build something that can last.

We acknowledge the process of having a sustainable business can be tough and rigorous but the platform was built to provide the structure, governance, investment and support that enables street Foodz-prenuers in the informal sector, turn culinary talent into thriving businesses in an accountable manner.

Out of the top 5 contestants eligible for this investment, only @tummiesdelight diligently scaled through the process so far and has since received #6million naira debt investment based on her choice. There is still N19million naira available, yet to be accessed by these past contestants which would elapse soon.

At Street Foodz Naija, winning based on your ability to cook is not the end of the journey, but building a sustainable and profitable business.

Street Foodz Naija will continue to engage Akara Express and explore a sustainable resolution that protects the interests of the entrepreneur while remaining consistent with the principles of accountability, fairness and responsible investment.
