TEDxChicago 2026 at the Harris Theater: one theme kept coming back, on every stage and every floor. Redesigning systems.

This year’s theme was We The People, told in three sessions: Begin Within, Between Us, What We Build. Every speaker came from a different discipline.

Some of those fields I know well. Others are completely new to me. That is how we stay students of life: by connecting the dots across disciplines until something new something new appears. Different rooms but same work where innovation lives at the intersection, and systems thinking lives in every room.

Performing on the TEDx Chicago stage was truly an honor and an experience I’ll never forget. The love, the energy, the people, the atmosphere… EVERYTHING was astronomical!

TEDx is so much more than music. It’s more than just speaking to people. It’s about ideas, connection, inspiration, impact, and creating a MOVEMENT that lives far beyond one stage. I’m beyond grateful that I had the opportunity to bring a piece of who I am and what I stand for into that room.

Huge shoutout to my awesome manager for always helping bring the vision to life, and to my drummer Ray Ray for HOLDING IT DOWN like always! Shoutout to my AMAZING stylist Cole for putting me ON!!!

And CHICAGO… thank you for continuing to show me so much love everywhere I go. Every stage, every opportunity, and every person I meet reminds me why I do this. This is bigger than me. Bigger than music. We’re building something special. ❤️

Warren Cole Ackerman is a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist and founder of AKS-FAB, an independent label making one-of-one upcycled garments from unconventional, repurposed materials.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

His work turns discarded materials into wearable art, pushing back on waste and consumer culture. A global upbringing shapes how he thinks about language, collaboration, and self-expression, and he’s currently pursuing a BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he keeps exploring the intersections of material, identity, and creative community.
