Monthly @roxacharleston tasting post! This month's theme was The Cosmos and I certainly enjoyed our visit to other planets. I was most looking forward to the second dish and I think it was my favorite of the evening, although the cosmic brownie was a close second! Thanks for always letting us have a spot at the table, @huttonheather!

Time for the monthly @roxacharleston themed menu and this one was SUPER special to me. Way back in the mid90s, my cousin @bwigley2020 hosted me and Jillian for theater summer camp where we performed in A Midsummer Night's Dream, which is still my favorite Shakespeare piece. So when @huttonheather announced this month's theme, I jumped and immediately booked our spots. This was full of fun and whimsy with Heather's signature something-on-fire and fruit-flavored bubbles, with a touch of thats-glass-dont-eat-it thrown in. Excellent job, friends.

@spoletofestivalusa and @piccolospoletofestival take over Charleston for a couple of weeks this time of year. There are art installations, an art market, concerts, dance, theater - even puppets! And now @roxacharleston has jumped in to offer their own artistic spin on our favorite festival. Accompanied by some very enjoyable live music, we filled up our bellies (and takeout containers). My favorite was a tie between the New Orleans Jazz and the Cistern. Can't wait to see what @huttonheather has in store for next month!

🎂Say hi to Amanda!! @akthudson is our Pastry Sous Chef and brings so much talent, technique, and heart to everything we do. She worked alongside Danetra at Swank Desserts as Pastry Sous Chef and is an incredible Pastry Chef in her own right (have you tried her dishes at Wine&Food?) She’s been with us at Roxa these last few months, and it’s been so exciting to watch her really step into this season of Roxa!

🍸You know Erin?! @fernmami — you may know her from JackRabbit!! Her background is insane from her role as CDC there but Erin has even more abilities to show off! She’s stepping into our Front of House role, where you’ll feel her hospitality and love for this industry the second you walk in. Her attention to detail is unmatched — and yes, she’s crafting some really fun, thoughtful cocktails for us too. 🍸

🥂And while we’re fine-tuning everything, we’re tasting wines with Angie @missiongrapeco (and our friends at @stemsandskins) to build a wine list that makes sense with dessert — not an afterthought, but a special part of the experience. (We love you, Angie!!)

We’re having fun bringing it to life and you know we're always bringing our favorite shade-purple! 💜

Roxa means purple in Portuguese, and it’s at the core of everything we do. From ube and lavender to edible flowers, purple has always been Chef Heather’s signature. More than a color, Roxa is about culture, creativity, and gathering— it's where the flavors, stories, and Chef Heather’s French and American roots come together!

💫If you love tasting experiences and premium ingredients BEARCAT is the place to be.

Came for a friend’s birthday and it passed the vibe check. The restaurant has a marvelous outdoor area that feels like an outdoor green house. We were seated at the chef counter where you can see all the action. We chose the 7 course experience to explore the culinary journey the restaurant offered.

🦪We started with milk bread with duck mousse and oysters. Every bite left you wanting more.
🥣Next was a Japanese style custard that was different, but very flavorful.
🍸We tried every Original drink that was on the menu. My favorite was Ectocooler, Flores, and That’s The Problem. The mixologist is a GENIUS
🍱The freeze dried passion fruit with fresh fish was exceptional. Great texture
🌊Grilled Scallops were cooked to perfection.
🐷The Pork belly and rice was everything and more. Simple but filling.
🍮Last we had a Peach crème brûlée and caramel white chocolate ganache,
🚀While enjoying are dining experience we were blown away by how seamlessly the kitchen staff were interacting with each other. It was amazing to watch true professionals at work.
