so very lucky to have spent the weeks straddling 2025 and 2026 travelling the yucatan with the babies - visiting and revisiting sandy, salty, tasty pockets of paradise.

it’s been a long trip. it’s felt longer still. maybe it’s all the places we’ve stayed. maybe it’s that we haven’t had many home comforts. maybe its the time it takes to slow down and settle into the rhythm of being not doing.

even though we can’t help but consume and care and feel angered by the news, this trip has felt like a welcome (undoubtedly privileged) circuit breaker of sorts from the utter insanity of the world at large.

we’ve done almost nothing we personally planned to do. i’ve rolled out my yoga mat three times. i’ve read one chapter of my book and done a handful of simple drawings. i don’t have a catalogue of substacks to publish, a business plan or a new year new me game plan (not sure i was in the market for one anyway). but maybe we traded those tick boxes for a sense of perspective that we just don’t get in the thick of it - working and parenting in london.

travelling with a curious 3 year old who literally doesn’t stop for breath, wants to touch everything, doesn’t nap and doesn’t let anything past him is both wonderful and exhausting.

throw in a 5 month old who is happy as larry as long as she’s firmly glued to a warm body or has a tit in her mouth and that leaves only minute micro windows to relax.

the contrast from the lazy days of previous trips to mexico is stark.

parenting continues to humble you. and as memorable and beautiful as it’s been to spend precious time as a four and to witness our two little tacos bonding, it’s also relentless. parenting in the tropics with no support is even fruitier that usual.

My debut album ‘Babo Moreno’ is out today!

Released on my own label Matuska Records and distributed by @kudosrecords.

Alongside that comes my final single of the album ‘Sun City’. This is my tribute to Salvador, Bahia and carnival but more on that over the coming days. For now here’s my take on the album :

This record is me finding my voice not just musically, but culturally. Growing up in London as the son of Brazilian immigrants, I’ve always lived between two worlds. This album is a love letter to both. It’s rooted in the rhythms and spirit of Brazil but shaped by the energy of London and the global music scene I’ve grown up in.

Every second-generation immigrant carries a unique blend of cultures, each of us absorbing different elements from both our heritage and the world we grow up in.

Though our experiences are distinct, we’re united by a shared understanding of what it means to live in that in-between space. For me, making sense of that blend has been a deeply personal journey, one that’s shaped how I see myself and the world around me.
This album is the result of that process: a reflection of identity, growth, and the beauty of existing between cultures.

I made this for people like me, second-generation, in-between cultures, trying to hold on to something that feels like home, even if it’s constantly shifting.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart
to everyone who played a part in making this record happen, I’m forever indebted to you all!

The Tree Stage Opening Ceremony at Glastonbury festival 🤍🕊👁 ... a magical place for grounding spacey cosmic electronica in a gentle folky dream.
@glastofest @woodsiesareaglasto

The oak itself stands at the center of the sound field. It's a truly ceremonial place to gather and worship the sun in the heart of Avalon.

Daisy Rickman 🎶 'feed the forest' 🎶
Bones Tan Jones, a most magnificent space holder...
Youth, Robin & Steve everitt with quadraphonic sounds...

Thank you to all the performers who participated
and to the videograohers for putting together this incredible piece @al.extrap @jimwrsmith 👁🕊 📹

... love to the Glastonbury family, deeply extending like the roots of our somerset Oak tree 🤍
