My favourite photo shoot, with the best @casscollettphotography and @lovingthelookbabe

It was to showcase a, now sold-out, cashmere collection. Those sweaters are still brilliant and I still wear them like t-shirts!

My goal when designing is to create pieces that don’t put one into a box, as it were. We are so many things and often a contradiction. So I wanted to create a sweater that would be all of those things that we can be - even over the course of a day. A sweater that I could walk the dogs in, hike in, or wear for business meetings or cocktails and a dinner date.

I did it and these sweaters, all of them, fit all personas, all agendas and most landscapes.

In fact, all of the sweaters I designed are my most worn items. Exactly how I intended.

If you’ve not yet tried an Alabaste (officially a noun amongst my loyal clients), what are you waiting for? There’s a rare and wonderful offer on the website now. See what tickles your fancy…

☀️ Who is Indian Summer? We’re that little slice of everywhere else—curated just for Cape Town. Think bold prints, dreamy fabrics, and pieces that don’t try too hard (but still turn heads).

✨And here’s the kicker: this drop’s only on for 3 days.
Then it’s done. Gone. Off living its best life.

Cape Town — you ready?

Hi, I’m Ava.
You may know me through Alabaste Cashmere, but I’m also a personal style and colour specialist.
My work is about unlocking a wardrobe - and a presence - that reflects you at your best while making life simpler, sharper, and far more exciting.

When we work together you’ll:
• Discover the colours and styling codes that make you look radiant, youthful, and magnetic.
• Update your style to match the chapter of life you’re in today, so your wardrobe finally tells the right story.
• Build a system that saves you time, money, and endless frustration by cutting out mistakes and second-guessing.
• Gain a personal polish that sets you apart: the quiet confidence of excellent taste, the kind people notice without knowing why.

The result is simple: you’ll look and feel extraordinary every day, with a style so effortless and authentic it becomes your best-kept advantage.

If you’d like to find out more, just reply here or message me directly on WhatsApp: +27 68 118 0696.

A beautiful collaboration with my cashmere-loving friends and Alabaste— two brands aligned in timeless luxury, boutique elegance, and high-class service. I had the joy of exploring their exquisite colours and couldn’t resist the bold pink. Soft, sustainable, and effortlessly stylish — supporting local never felt this good.

I was in full on #adhd @adhdoers hyper focus last and banged out all my @ladygaga @hauslabs content which was so satisfying and this just made me tear up. Day 2 in Paris with @irenemoore_ @hauslabs @sephorafrance was so fun. I’m not gonna lie I was emotionally at breaking point Jan/ Feb I was cleaning up other people’s messes and chaos and defending against emotional and financial attacks by people having a go….I know you are in a fragile space right now can you X,Y.X errrr no mate bring it, let show you what the support of generations of African grandmas’ blood flowing through my veins looks like and don’t fuck with me. Anyway let’s say it’s been a challenging time when I got the invite to Paris and it reminded me what my focus should be and who I am and what brings me joy beauty, community, creativity, art, travel, dance, incredible @hauslabs high performance products which made me feel so playful and free beauty has always been my safe space, you can create characters, it’s mindful and ritualistic putting on, the colour and design of the packaging, historical references when creating a look everything about beauty hits my sweet spots and the best bit are people. I’ve been freelance since I was 23 and @lauralovesprettythings one of my closet friends says I’m a lone wolf which is true but I do love and need to emerge and run with the wolf pack and play and this trip was exactly@that and so healing thank you to everyone and especially @irenemoore_ one of my ride or die for 20 years the one I could speak my truth too and talk about #microaggressions before it was even a word but something we experienced everyday but could put our finger on thank you and look how far we have come and as Irene who is so wise and well as being bad ass said we need to honour those women who we were they got us here (even though I want to slap the woman I was and say wake the fuck up bitch) I honour her, salute her, forgive her and she got me here batty rolling being joyful in Paris and that’s the ultimate flex to the bullshit and fuckery….be happy 🔥🩷👑😎🥂💄
