Still processing how beautiful all pieces came together ✨
We’re speechless and thankful for all the kind feedback we received.

aethernet is not about pretending to be something, it’s not about fashion or money, it’s about love for the scene and music that we want to share with you.

A special thank you goes to @dajusch @delano.legito @lilith.____________ @tommylewisdj @ricardo_e__ and @katja.mp3 for the sound of the night, to @_haimzu_ for a light installation that kept entertaining us all night, to @alainesmith for her amazing art that created the atmosphere and to those who ran the venue and bar all night. Without you all, none of this would have been possible.

Let’s see where our next event takes us…
See you soon!

This time, we will feature a couple of pieces by @alainesmith

She’s an artist interested in anatomy and the human form as a way to explore the subconscious mind and the body’s emotional memory. Using bold, intuitive color, surreal, fragmented shapes and symbolisms, her work moves between abstraction and recognition, allowing forms to dissolve and reassemble beyond logic. Her interest is in what the body and mind hold beneath awareness and subconscious, highlighting the parts of ourselves that surface without explanation.

⛓Kill your Darlings! ✨

As part of the exhibition “Addressing” @baerenzwinger.berlin
10/11/2023 - 4/2/2024
with @poligonal.berlin and @spaetispaeti.eu

(thx @volksbuehne_berlin for letting us glean your banner)

This summer, we were approached by the curatorial team of Bärenzwinger to contribute to this year’s winter exhibition. Our contribution “Kill your darlings!” refers to the pragmatic spatial intervention we suggested to make the architecture of the listed building of the gallery more accessible to its neighborhood, many of which were rejected by the art institution. Just like we had to part with our own "darlings" in this process, our project challenges the communal gallery Bärenzwinger and the Heritage Office of Berlin to engage in critical reflection about their own darlings. How open can a bearpit - a prison - be? What must be removed, and what can remain? What are we holding on to and why?
Our project “Kill your Darlings!” repurposes the spaces of Bärenzwinger into collective basement spaces, so that this process of letting go ultimately creates space for other people's darlings! You can visit and contribute until 4/2/2024: find what you’ve wanted to get rid of for a while, yet never managed to let go of, and bring it to the gallery!
On the closing of the exhibition (4.2.) these gatherings will finally be freed and become part of a collective swap market. See you there! 👀

The exhibition “Addressing” is the fourth part of the annual program GLEANING

Curated by Cleo Wächter, Joana Stamer, Julius Kaftan and Vanessa Göppner
