POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The time has finally come for the Annie Booth Big Band to make our debut record! 💿✨😊

The band rehearses tomorrow and then we hit the studio on Saturday and Sunday. This album has been a long time coming and I can’t wait to finally bring these recordings to life with the help of these incredible musicians.

It’s not too late to get involved if you’re interested in supporting the project. Contribute today to gain access to BTS of the tunes/recording process, early listening, advance CDs/vinyl, and more. It feels so great to be heading into the weekend 46% funded, thanks to everyone who has supported so far!

Maybe the craziest day of our career so far! We had the chance to sing for our heroes, The New York Voices, during their visit at UNT this weekend!

Not only was it incredibly encouraging, but it was a dream come true to receive feedback on how to take our craft to the next level! We are so exciting for what we have in store for you all!

It’s time to introduce you to the amazing personnel for my forthcoming big band recording. First up is @alanbaylock, who will be producing the album!

Alan is a great friend and business partner, and someone whose incredible career as a composer, arranger, bandleader, and educator brings a wealth of expertise to the studio. He knows my music inside and out, and I can’t wait to have his great ears and perspective in the room as we bring this album to life!

Starting off the year strong with performances by our incredible trumpet faculty: Dr. Samayoa, Dr. Walker, and a special debut performance by our new professor Dr. Oliverio! They are joined by some of our wonderful graduate assistants and teaching fellows!

One year ago today…
I flew home to North Carolina after attending the University of North Texas’s summer jazz workshop! The experience I had while I was there pushed me out of my comfort zone and truly gave me some of the best playing experience (especially in a combo setting) I’ve ever had! I was fortunate enough to be placed in the week’s top combo under the direction of Dave Meder, and I’ll forever remember the unbelievable arrangement of Nardis that we put together. A huge shoutout and thank you to Alan Baylock for inviting me out, and I hope to visit UNT again in the near future! ✳️🦅

Literally the best camp ever. Met so many people and I’m already planning my trip back for next year. Thank you so much to my incredible combo director @bradfordleali for all the amazing guidance and support through the week. 10/10 camp, wouldn’t change a thing, except the food!
