I wrote earlier about the importance of these beautiful peonies 🌺 and today I wanted to acknowledge their fallen petals. I’ve had these flowers in my office for the past week or two ~ the backdrop to my zoom calls and my podcast interviews, the smell and sight of them giving me so much delight each day. This morning, after my interview with @alaynehingconsulting and @sportlawca / @grief.unleashed about the importance of ritual in the world of sport, I decided to say goodbye to these peony friends of mine. I gathered up the fallen petals and returned them to the land ~ I kept some petals in my shell too, as I love watching them furl and decay, noticing the subtle changes as they transform. I’m reminded of the natural cycles of life and while I know these peonies will return again next year, today I am grieving the end of this glorious peony season. 🌸

Vancouver Foil World Cup in the books! Quite the experience, particularly for our young Dynamo fencers who came to support all of our athletes who competed. I am proud of all of us for representing our country proudly and showing our Canadian spirit! It was also very special to have a visit from one of my first fencing coaches, Jed Chapin, who made the trip to Vancouver to see our athletes compete. Congrats @eleamorgue on medaling at 5/7 of the World Cup circuit events so far this season, and @yunjia.zhang_ who made the top 16 for the first time! Next stop Shanghai in about 12 days. 🇨🇦 🤺 💪
