#GoodmorningGDS, Happy Thursday! I saw this post again yesterday and I’d like to touch on this a bit. In an effort to encourage #gentleparenting and #gentleteaching; I think our children should be appropriately educated on BOTH types of parenting relationships, as timing permits. Children raised in heterosexual households should of course learn of the examples they see at home; Mom & Dad… But also be prepared for outside of the home; parks, grocery store, carnivals etc. Children are curious. They have questions. They trust their parents. This is an opportunity to answer them with honesty and love. This helps them to not be steered wrong by outside influences and/or be mindful not to bully other children at school with same-sex parents. This is bigger than YOU and YOUR house. It preps them for the world they cannot avoid. Also… DISCLAIMER: I ONCE felt this way COMPLETELY as I grew up COGIC. However, I’ve been an ally for the LGTBQIA community for years PRIOR to my spouse and I’ve felt so safe with those friends. I began shifting my thinking then, even more now… •• My spouse is a godParent to four children and has one nephew. We could be “parents” one day as she’s assumed that role. They need to know 🫶🏽 Keep in mind protecting children is advising them of what EXISTS not what doesn’t. •• And this post isn’t “forcing” anything… because there’s just little ol me and Golden. We aren’t alone in this world though. We are fairly respectful of children yet we have to exist too! And there were other people 🏳️‍🌈 before us and more will come after us - in your families, friend groups and communities. I love y’all 💕 #samesexparents #samesexparenting #LGBTQIA #information #Informative #informeddecisions #informedchoices #educational #educationmatters #education #educate #twomoms #twomomfamily #twomomfamilies #twodads #twodadfamily #twodadsfamilies #ProtectOurChildren #ThursdayThoughts #momdad #momdadfamily #momdadfamilies #repost (Respectful dialogue is WELCOMED)
