SMC Motorsport Mclaren to Make GT Open Debut in the Season Finale‼️🔵🟠

SMC Motorsport will make its first GT Open appearance entering Pro class with a Mclaren for Alejandro Geppert and Ben Doerr in the iconic Gulf livery.

The team led by Emilio de Villota Jr., a familiar name in the championship, joining forces with McLaren Barcelona, will make its debut in the top-tier Pro class at the season finale, fielding a McLaren-supported driver line-up. In recent years, SMC Motorsport has established itself in the McLaren family, highlighted by winning the McLaren Artura Trophy title in 2024 and successes in the MLMC among others.

What a race! What a finale! What a season!

The last race of the season kept us on the edge of our seats for the duration and ended with a well deserved victory for Jeets and Ianniello. You just couldn’t write it.

The grid has been decided for the final race of the 2026 McLaren Trophy Europe season and it’s a mixed up field in the Pro class, with first time polesitter @psrace.tv leading the way.

Going fastest overall was newly crowned Pro-Am champions @alejandro_geppert so expect some fireworks later today.

Tune in at 15:25 to watch it all live.

Confirmation of the race one results and there are now just two points in it at the top of the Pro class championship. It’s very much all to play for in the season finale this afternoon.

Champions again!

Congratulations to @alfab_racing on claiming the McLaren Trophy Europe Pro-Am title in Portimão. It’s now two titles in three years after Erik won the 2024 Am class. Now he can add Pro-Am champion to his list of achievements alongside teammate @alejandro_geppert, who is also now a two-time champion.

It’s a second pole position of the year for @josh.mason21 and @michaelobrienracing, but crucially the order of the top three after qualifying is the reverse of the top three in the championship!

Race one is coming up at 13:45. We don’t think you’re going to want to miss this one!

It’s all change at the top of the times after Free Practice Two. Pro class championship leaders @callumdavies_racing and @lucamagnussen show their speed to go P1 in class but it’s the #80 entry of Ron Trenka and @jonlancaster23 who go fastest of all.

The end of Free Practice One and the Pro-Am rivals @paddockmsport and @alfab_racing topped the times overall, but there’s an interesting battle for top honours brewing in the Pro class.

More to come this afternoon.
