“Success isn’t a solo performance. It’s a chorus of people who believe in each other.” A huge thank you to @aria_Insider for shining a light on the incredible work of @bundjil Music, created by @mialovelock_ and @david.gugliotta What stood out to me wasn’t just the feature—it was what happened inside it. Bundjil used the opportunity to celebrate @mrrhodesmusic , spotlight @spotifyaunz curator @aletheabeetson Big Ancestory Energy Spotify playlist, mention me, and talk about something bigger than themselves: the future of Australian music and creating opportunities for the next generation of artists. That’s the kind of leadership our industry needs When we celebrate each other, share opportunities, and open doors, we don’t just grow careers—we strengthen the entire Australian music community especially First Nations Creatives 🖤💛❤️ Thank you, ARIA Insider, for telling stories and highlight creatives, leaders that remind us the future of music isn’t built by one person. It’s built by a community that chooses to rise together. 🤍 #AustralianMusic #FirstNationsMusic #EmergingArtists #MusicIndustry #ARIAInsider

50 Years of Deadly, 50 Deadly Faces In celebration of this year’s NAIDOC theme, 50 Years of Deadly, we’re featuring 50 deadly people over the month of July! Deadly face number 38 is Dr. Alethea Beetson @aletheabeetson Proud Kabi Kabi and Wiradjuri woman Dr Alethea Beetson has dedicated her career to amplifying First Nations voices across music, education and the creative industries. From founding Digi Youth Arts and producing groundbreaking First Nations programs at BIGSOUND, to leading Indigenous initiatives at Spotify and championing Blak creatives through her own agency, Blak Social, Alethea has consistently created platforms where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists can be celebrated on their own terms. An award-winning writer, producer, and academic, Alethea continues to shape Australia’s creative future by connecting creative and culture in new and innovative ways. Whether mentoring emerging artists, curating national events, developing new pathways in the music industry or advocating for greater Indigenous representation across the arts, she leads with generosity and an unwavering commitment to the next generation. #50YEARSOFDEADLY #NAIDOC2026 #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC IMAGE: Fernando Barraza

What remains after NAIDOC Week? The banners come down. The calendar moves on. But the stories stay with us — if we keep listening.   Since 2019, Welcoming Australia has made a deliberate choice: each Symposium begins with the voice of a fierce Blak woman.   Not as a formality before the “real” program begins. Her story is where the program begins. This placement shapes the ground beneath every conversation that follows. Because stories do not simply fill a room. They shape the room: what can be spoken, what must be challenged, and what a community can begin to imagine together.   Across eight Symposiums, Professor Anita Heiss AM. DLitt., Karen Mundine, Professor Megan Davis, Dr Alethea Beetson, Professor Chelsea Watego, Mundanara Bayles AFHEA Grad Cert Indig Bus Leadership Monash, Aunty Pat Anderson AO and Dana Shen have grounded our work in truth, culture, resistance and survival — while asking us to look towards justice, self-determination and a future built in common.   We are proud that storytelling is not decoration at our Symposium. It is part of its architecture.   Following NAIDOC Week 2026, we are sharing our complete First Nations Keynote Series. These words were never meant to remain in the room, or within the boundaries of one week.   Return to them. Sit with them. Share them. Carry them into the decisions, relationships and structures that shape what comes next.   Read and watch via the link in bio.   #NAIDOC2026 #50YearsOfDeadly #FirstNations #TruthTelling #WelcomingAustralia
