FLORIAN BACH & ALEXANDRE BABEL: ASPHALTE GAIS

Florian Bach and Alexandre Babel play with the idea of negative space and absence in this imagination of their work Ashphalte. Elements such as light, color and sculptures change the objects and their surroundings and create a counterpoint between sound and image.

Yes Im in France right now but not really. I’ve been busy being invisible in technicolor halls shooting once again and for the 6th consecutive year for the beautiful @festival_musica_strasbourg
It’s been a crazy marathon as always shooting and rushing home to edit everything quickly, in bed with my heated slippers.

I have not been able to see friends, or hang out with my mom who did the trip specially from Spain to come help me during these crazy times ❤️ essentially keeping me fed and sane.

But it’s so worth it because I love working with them soo much, and the lightwork and music is always such a treat.
Anywhoo
Here are my favorite shots so far, and let me know if you can guess which crazy place Im editing pics from on the last slide. 🛝

Congratulations to all the friends for their amazing music and to the GRM team for the hard work.
And to everyone who came !

🔔Peter Conradin Zumthor ~ con sordino

Percussionist Peter Conradin Zumthor and inventor Gabriel Schneider modify the sound on the bell of the Reformed Church in Gais. Located in the main square of the town, the artistic intervention to this most familiar of sounds produces a hypnotic collective listening experience.
