Alexa Quaranta 🇺🇸

Player. Coach. Mentor.

Alexa’s time at Ellerslie has been about much more than football. From representing the club on the pitch to helping develop our young players, she’s brought energy, care and a genuine passion for helping players grow.

Her impact has been felt by players, parents and coaches — and will last well beyond the season.
Thank you for everything, Alexa.

Good luck with the next chapter back home in the USA. 🇺🇸

Once part of the Club. Always part of the Club. ❤️💛🖤

MEET THE COACHES: PART 4 ⚽

Introducing Alexa Quaranta.

Originally from Illinois, Alexa has played across the NCAA Division I, Division II, and NAIA levels, as well as competing semi-professionally in the United States, Spain, and Greece. She has also achieved success in futsal and 3v3 competitions, winning multiple championships throughout her playing career.

Alexa specialises in technical development and football IQ, with a strong focus on helping players become confident and comfortable on the ball. Her sessions emphasise high repetition, skill development, and game understanding, while providing players with feedback and individual work to continue their progress outside of training.

Whether you’re looking to improve your ball mastery, develop your confidence, or learn more about pathways into college football in the United States, Alexa is here to help you play, compete, and grow.

We’re proud to announce our partnership with two outstanding women’s football players at Ellerslie AFC @alexaquaranta40 and @daniellegrimmer ⚽🔥

Supporting their season with Lotto Football boots, Alexa has chosen the Maestro 100 while Danielle steps into the Solista 200 👟

This partnership is about more than just gear.
It’s about recognising the dedication, experience, and impact these athletes bring to the game, while backing the continued growth of women’s football.

Alexa “Q” Quaranta brings international experience, leadership, and a deep understanding of the game. From captaining state and regional teams to playing professionally in Spain, she’s built a reputation for composure, intelligence, and technical quality on the ball.

Danielle Grimmer’s football journey spans over 20 years from grassroots football to competing in the USA across NJCAA and NCAA Division II while studying. Now at Ellerslie AFC, she continues to bring experience, consistency, and passion to the game.

We’re excited to support both players throughout the season and can’t wait to share match moments, updates, and more 👏⚽

WOMENS FIRST TEAM | NEW SIGNING

Please welcome Alexa Quaranta to Ellerslie AFC for the 2026 season - Alexa joins us from the USA and is excited to be in New Zealand to add to her impressive playing CV.

Alexa is our first signing for the 2026 under an expanded international player programme the club has launched - she has played semi-pro for the Dutch Lions, BC Utd and professionally for Joventut Almassora.

We hope to help her with her journey to sign another professional deal (like we did last year for our two Korean international players).

Coach Ryan Shiffman was ecstatic the club has been able to attract Alexa to the club, with her ability to play Centre Back and Defensive midfield as well as being an experienced organiser of the team in her defensive roles and an excellent passer of the ball.

We can't wait to see her on the field for the Ponies in 2026!
