For my first time using graphite, I am pretty happy with this. Yes, it has lots of mistakes, but that's ok. I genuinely never imagined I would be able to learn this sort of skill. I am so glad I tried!

A really fabulous collective has arrived in the gallery, brought together by the very talented @annabrewsterart for LAND - SEA - SKY here at the Malthouse until June 25th and open everyday from 1000 until 1630. Featuring the brilliant @alexboonart with his nature journalling, glass artist @bryony_lamb_glass_art, felt artist @llewellyn309 (with some very striking felt jewellery), mixed media artist @trevorhuntart whose work we always love having on that back gallery wall - as well as Anna herself, the space somehow feels light and airy - yet full of beautiful things to admire. Do pop in - the artists themselves are stewarding and they’d love to see you

You don’t need to be an artist to begin. Curiosity is enough. A notebook, a pencil and a few quiet moments in nature can transform the way you experience everyday life. Through drawing, writing and mindful observation, nature journaling helps us remember that beauty lives in the details #naturejournaling #travel #journal #journalingcommunity #traveljournal

We're excited to have the author of 'How to Draw a River' and 'How to Draw a Tree' @alexboonart join us for a creative day of Nature Journaling this April! As well as getting your creativity flowing, nature journaling is a great way to learn about your surrounding environments, spend more time outside, and practice mindfulness. Alex says: "I have tried nature journaling in a great variety of different ways and styles, and have found that nature journaling has taught me the names of plants, the habits of birds, and has brought me closer to the seasonal cycles. I walk more, swim more, draw more, and know more, all thanks to nature journaling! Plus, I have come into contact with a community of generous-spirited like-minded nature journaling individuals through social media." This hands-on one day workshop will show you some fundamentals of nature journaling with fun prompts and exercises that are suitable for anybody, including total beginners! Come and give it a try, and you might end up with a brand new creative practice! Join us on Sunday 12th April, 10:00 -16:00. Find out more via the link in bio!
