Diaspora Collection Designer’s diary; Definition: A diaspora is a large group of people who leave their original homeland and scatter to other parts of the world while keeping their cultural (and faith) traditions and identity alive. My own diaspora goes back to the departure of my roots, leaving in rebellion, and carving a different path of my own. The first few looks that were showcased in this runway represent that moment in time. The first few designs that birthed the brand identity. Slowly you see it pay homage to our traditional roots while still covered in our punk rebellion (original prints), a small step back. What follows and the connection of red- the blood by a baptism of new roots old blood was shed for new life to come which can also be seen in upcycled garments, taking old lived life, and creating a whole new life for it’s life , which then flourish. Clothed in dignity and restored. On the outside we can be soft and seemingly underestimated as vulnerable, but in the in the spiritual realm, our rebellion has been refined as a warrior, reaching new glories. In the end we came back to our roots; but as the person who had gone through the journey. Ending with the look ‘God Loves His Ravens as Much As He Loves His Doves’ (Look 8). For we are all called to scatter in this world, I too am part of a diaspora. Designs, Make, Fashion Illustration and Edits @kylahowo 📸 @androsone

Angel in a box for our exhibition @balikbayan_ migumind (2026) Archangel (2026) So grateful to be exhibiting work for the first time in Melbourne, all praises go to the team @bamitssam @harelzfeliciano @jillarcenz for having me on board. I found it very enriching these past few days in Melbourne of sharing what it means to be Filipino in Australia, spanning our religious upbringings, to our fatty foods, our music to yearn to, our dance and song. Seeing our generation of talented artists, producers, dancers, directors and filmmakers just makes me want to explore deeper in the craft as a visual artist and designer. In a city that breathes patience, whispers to me a reminder that the world is abundant both inside and out. All while having fun XD Here’s some pictures we took to exhibit the beautiful people that pulled up 💥🇵🇭 #kapwa #filipino #babayin #artist #australianartists
