Hanging On // Directed by Alfie Barker

Set in Oulton, Leeds, an old coal-mining community of over 60 houses still stand. Originally made as temporary council housing, but sold onto private investors, they now sit with the threat of demolition, displacing a large number of residents.

Watch Hanging On and a whole load of jaw-dropping shorts at the link in bio. One week to go!

A docu-drama set in Oulton, Leeds, a former coal-mining community in which over 60 houses still stand, Hanging On spotlights the strength of a neighbourhood that unites when faced with eviction and reminds us about the struggles of people slipping through the cracks of society and explores what it means to have a home.

Honoured to shoot and be part of the team that made this back in a sub-zero January, under the fine directorship of @alfiebarka and produced by Hollie Bryan at Cosmosquare Films. And huge respect to the residents for letting us suspend them mid air, the strength and resilience they’ve shown throughout was certainly on show 🥶. Looking forward to sharing the full film and story with you all. Big love to everyone involved x
