This is a bestie appreciation post! Dhavi & me at my sixth olfactive menu, Whatever, where once again she saved my ass, along with my husband—sweating in the unseasonable surprise July-temped day in October (thanks Miami!) to move furniture and clean an outdoor space for the presentation of this curation. She has been holding it down for each of these events and is my silent partner in making the magic, and there aren’t enough words of thanks in English or elsewhere! @dhavster

Living in the USA ❤️ Surrounded by English, writing lyrics in Spanish felt extremely safe. It gave me an extra layer of obfuscation, giving me freedom to write without thinking about anyone else but me, processing what was going on with me at the time. What started as a “bathroom pop” series of demos (I love to record in that room because of the acoustics) became my life and took me many places. It also took several things away from me, as my obsession with writing pop distracted me from doing every other thing that I had planned and visualized for myself at a younger age. The result is a collection of songs so intimate that I couldn’t carry the burden of these poems on my own. Lucky for me, Bby Tigrita appeared in my life and took it from there. I now trust her to lead my way... Recorded between Miami, Los Angeles, and Philly! 🎙️

The credits of the album are hugely important, since I did not make it alone. 🙏
