the morning i awoke as a mrs. a bedside table overflowing with affection: 🍎 apple juice from the alfriston orchard 🪏 flowers gathered by @maikypdc on her morning walk 🍬 sweets 💌 letters 🍾 champagne from @cmj027 ‘s sweetheart 🎨 a painting of our cliffs in watercolor by @jackiebloome 💍 & rings by my love @vince_miranda & after my morning coffee, we went to wander the little village in which we had chosen to pledge our love. a medieval village in the heart of the sussex countryside, where time seems to have politely stood still. a kiss for my HUSBAND @vince_miranda at the kissing gate. a swans congradulations 🦢 here one can’t wander without encountering a friend or two the village square, where all manner of delightful things seem to unfold st andrew’s, the village’s beautiful 14th-century church affectionately known as the cathedral of the south downs an invitation to tea from the reverend, d, who kindly bestowed his blessing upon our marriage. & thus, our union received the blessing of saint andrews an afternoon made all the lovelier by the company of friends a most pressing matter at the clergy house: casting my vote for the seasons finest crop. the garlic had my favour. i take my civic duties most seriously. no holiday of my arranging would be complete without a little rummaging through bookshops & shops of curiosities. a little frolicking in the countryside with these dear sisters. & of course, my own darling sister. a moment to return our thanks to the cliffs that bore witnessed to our vows. “to the ancient stones beneath our feet, & the sea that stretched beyond us” our deepest thanks. i leave a piece of my heart here.

Day 1 of the road trip. Visited the bucolic village of Alfriston. Very trendy shops and yummy tea houses and pubs. Met the lovely Haley (who's 🇨🇦, from Toronto) who owns Seed and Leaf, filled with the largest array of herbs and spices I've ever smelt. A must stop for cooks 👩🏼‍🍳 There's vintage, and then there's vintage. A throwback to the 1920's - 1960's, high-end antique fashion. A dressing room fit for the set of The Great Gatsby. Much Ado Books was a treasure trove of books and stationery and we left with a poem. Scrummy cakes and coffee at The Singing Kettle served by the friendly Joy. Fern, Object Trouve, and Nord and Badgers also worth a visit. Next stop - Seven Sister's Country park & Birling Gap. #alfriston #seedandleaf #southdowns #southdownsway #eastsussex

Four wedding venues. One day. Sussex DJ Company. What a Sunday. Yesterday our team was out representing Sussex DJ Company across @alfristonsouthdowns The Alfriston, South Downs, @bluebellcoppiceweddings Bluebell Coppice Park, @briarhousebarns Briar House Barns and @eastsussexnationalgolfspahotel East Sussex National. We met loads of couples planning their weddings, had some great conversations with the venue teams and connected with some brilliant fellow wedding suppliers. Having Sussex DJ Company represented at four venues on the same day is something we’re incredibly proud of and a great reminder of how far the company has come. Thank you to all four venues for welcoming us and to everyone who stopped by to meet the team.
