Alice and her Mom have put in 4 solid days of preparation, packing, and hauling stuff for this year’s county youth livestock show…I was waiting on delivery of Alice’s stand (pictured), which arrived about 10 minutes before the deadline for me to split so I wouldn’t miss the lamb events…got to Dripping Springs in juuuust enough time to unpack and assemble the thing for Alice to use with Bo prior to her Market and Showmanship trips around the ring…In a bit of a surprise, Daisy the goat came away with her first Top 5 ribbon of the year, on the last day Alice had her! Daisy was rented for the season and went back to the breeder at the end of the stock show…Alice got some good notes from the lamb judge about how she can thicken Bo up over the next few weeks leading up to Majors…

Jude’s holiday band concert was today. The final piece, Santa the Barbarian, was my favorite number he’s ever performed…he also had a brief solo during one of the songs!

First stock show of the school year…Bo didn’t set the world on fire, but they didn’t come away empty handed either, and Alice got some good tips from the judge on where she needs to bulk up the sheep’s muscle tone…All in all a successful first outing with the new lamb.
