The most meaningful, heartfelt, important drawing I ever made. In loving memory of my Mum, my bestie, the hand I held as I walked out of the darkness. October 17 is the day I lost my bright star.
I miss you like crazy.
I hope you are snuggling up with Romeo and Polly now ❤️
.
Thank you to @jameskalinda for giving my skin this mark of everlasting love.

I am Alice and I am a sketchbook addict.
I draw way more in a sketchbook than I do on other surfaces. The sketchbook is my safe place, my refuge, my little sacred friend that holds all the little pieces of my soul that I pour in it. It’s a journal, a memory drawer, a place to experiment, something to find calm in when the soul is troubled.
I also happen to really, really like my iPad, but I was missing that sketchbook feeling.
So I went and made a setup in Procreate that allows you to have a sketchbook, cover, pages, papers and all.

It's on my ko-fi.com/volpeluna
Or you can use the 🔗 in my bio

There is a FREE mini version, and a bigger, paid one, and I tried to keep it affordable.
If you use it and like it, please tag me ☺️

And if you want to read me blabber about it, I just posted on Substack, you find it in my linktree in bio!

Letters from the Heart is my super small, super beloved Snail Mail Club. I had to pause it because life, but I am so happy it's back now 🩷 I love to plan and plot every one, hand draw the letter, decide which prints and things go in it. If I have enough subscribers for August, I may be able to include stickers, which is something I really would like to try! 😁 So do you want to receive a little maily mail love artsy letter from me? You can book your spot for the August round at the shoppe link in my bio!

🇮🇹 “Letters from the Heart” è il mio piccolo, piccolissimo e amatissimo Snail Mail Club.

Another project for #TourdeFleece2026 is this amazing fiber by @jarbontextiles gifted to me by dear Marisa @abenaia_yarn 💙
The depth of color in the singles is just unreal.
The spindle I'm spinning it on is a pretty special one too.
It's an Italian drop spindle made in Emilia Romagna, Italy by @alicesavage and it's absolutely gorgeous! Just look at all those beautiful details! Love love love ♡

Made out of walnut wood, it's light and veeeery fast! With every flick it adds tons of twist really quickly making it perfect for thin singles, the thing I just adore!

There's a charming story behind this type of spindles too. In Alice's words: "In Italian, to spin wool is said "filare" (to make thread, more or less). During the courtship, it was tradition for the young man to gift the fiancee with a spindle. In fact, when a young girl had a suitor, it was used to say that "she had a filarino" (which you could loosely translate as having a little spinning?)." Aww, just how romantic is that?

Disclaimer: this spindle was gifted to my by Alice Savage in exchange for a review, but my opinion is genuine and honest. I love it! Thank you so much Alice!

@alicesavage Alice started doing Snail Mail. It finally arrived. I have missed receiving art mail. Alice is and always has been magical. I hold you very dear to my heart. She is so talented and has always been an inspiration for me to try new forms of creativity. That first picture is mail from 2017 and I treasure it. Thank you Alice. I look forward to the next one 🙏🦋💜🐌💌
