Out &About Friday June 20th I was invited to attend a fashion graduation exhibition at La Salle College @lasallevancouver @styleboxlasalle . The event was a final project by Sara Yasaei @sarayasaei_ . It was a performance piece featuring created sets and environments, sound , performance and featured fashion designs . The following is taken from the artists handout - Welcome to The Foucault Pendulum (A Fashion Graduation Exhibition). This event is designed to showcase a collection inspired by the emotional struggles of individuals with bipolar disorder and their responses to their surroundings, presented through an interactive format. The goal of this performative experience is to spark conversation around neurodivergence and its impact on creative individuals. Addressing mental health in the creative community is essential, as it profoundly influences both their work and lifestyle-shaping them in ways that can be both challenging and deeply inspiring. This event was a true venture into creativity. I was moved by the emotional content and the intense energy of the performances. As an audience member I felt immersed in the environment and the atmosphere, and absorbed the narrative and the visual storytelling. The visual elements featured Sara Yasaei’s fashion designs which used experimental treatments and inventive production techniques to portray her both her emotional content and her aesthetics. The entire showcase was a great success and accolades go out to all who created and participated in the experience.
