I guess this is the view that our beloved swifts will have of us as they set off over the next few days for their epic flight to Africa 🌍

We've loved them especially this year with their strident call and joyful aerobatics 💞

Our range of cards is full of reminders of happy times, different seasons, favourite birds and animals. See if you can find yours at beeeater.co.uk

We are excited to be opening our Victorian House once more, to celebrate the creativity of our artists.

The work on display varies widely in style and medium, while often retaining a natural or botanical element.

Our exhibition is curated throughout the ground floor of the house and out into the garden, to allow you to experience art in a relaxed and calm environment
whilst enjoying cakes baked by Jenny.

Our two new artists this year are @megalilydesign
who creates botanical linoprints, and @louiseerskineart with her gentle watery landscapes.

Our Artists…

Zoe Clare - Ceramic sculpture
Louise Erskine - Watercolour landscapes
Fleur Grenier - Pewter sculpture
Sharon Griffin - Sculpture
Jenny Hollis - Cakes and bakes
Karen Hollis - Floral paintings
Alison Ingram - Abstract wildlife paintings
Chris Kampf - Metal garden sculptures
MegaLilyDesign - Botanical linoprints
Jill Tattersall - Mixed media paintings
Si Uwins - Garden sculpture
Tessa Wolfe Murray - Ceramic vases & wall plaques

The highlight of our walk at Helperby yesterday was a bullfinch sighting - both of them stripping buds which had only just emerged! 🌱

We love these cards by @katiefullerart @alisoningram.art and Stephen Lennon at @umbellifercards

And this beautiful cushion based on a design by the late great Robert Gilmor.

Before I sign off for the year, I wanted to say a massive thank you to those who helped make a dream come true this year. 2025, the year I became a published author. 📚

Thanks to my publisher for taking a chance on me, my agent, Amberley, for being a supportive and grounding light in this process. The team at ID audio for putting the audio book together, the illustrators who brought beautiful life to the cover and pages. The people who let me share their stories in the words. The booksellers who have championed the book. My friends who have been with me at many events, interviewing and making the journey so much fun, my family & friends for shouting about it to anyone who would listen and most importantly, to everyone who has gone out, bought The Life Affirming Magic of Birds and left kind reviews. ❤️

Aware this sounds like an acceptance speech 🤣, but I just wanted to say that something like this takes a huge team to pull it together. I've learnt so much in the past year but mostly I've learnt about the beauty of collaboration 🙌 and I need those people who have been a part of this book to know how grateful I am for them all ✨️🙏

I hope that my words have helped people see the magic that is all around us if we slow down and look.
