10 years ago this week I surrendered my life to full time ministry at Camp Orlando. I had struggled with my calling, wondering if this was just a fun job to have, or if this was what i was called to do for the rest of my life. And on June 15, 2011 the Lord made it abundantly clear. For 3 years @firstorlando and @wearemvmtstudents shaped me and molded me, and helped prepare me to take on my first role as minister to students @dawsonchurch and @dawsonsm.

Those four years at Dawson were some of the most challenging, yet rewarding, times in my life. I grew so much as a follower of Christ, as a husband and father, and as a minister while in Birmingham. I would not trade those four years for anything. The friendships and relationships i developed there are ones that will last a lifetime.

For the past three years I have had the privilege of leading @prestonwoodstudentsnorth and have seen the Lord do things far beyond anything I could have ever hoped for or imagined. This past week was kind of surreal as my final week as a student pastor came to an end at Beach Camp, much like it started 10 years ago this very week at Camp Orlando. The leadership lessons i have learned from @jason_mick_ and the @prestonwoodstudents team have been invaluable to me. In addition I am so grateful for the men and women that I have had the honor to serve alongside of, the volunteers that have invested so much of their time, and the students that I have built lifelong relationships with! There is truly no place like Prestonwood Students.

With all of that being said, I am so excited to serve alongside Pastor @bales.connor as the Associate Pastor of the North Campus @prestonwoodbc. These past 10 years the Lord has grown me and stretched me, to prepare me for this next calling in ministry. I love students, and always will, but I am so excited for what is to come at Prestonwood North campus!The best is ahead!

i know it’s been a week but i still cant form words to describe how thankful i am for Collide 2021, the amazing @brookhillsstudents staff, the wonderful @brookhillsworship , and most of all the community of phenomenal people around me. I learned so much and God grew me in ways i definitely wasn’t expecting. i love these people more than i can say and i enjoyed every single moment with them!! this was, without a doubt, the best collide yet!

This incredible staff of old and new friends, the teaching and worship that led us to the cross, Simon/Randy/JLo/Paula, these students and leaders, God’s grace shown through baptism, and the many Jesus moments are just a few highlights.. Hey @dawsonsm, thanks for allowing me to hang with you this week. I’m in awe of what the Lord did and can’t wait to see His work continue through each of you!
