A very successful weekend out for Sterk Span Coaching Academy at this past weekends ISUZU Ironman 70.3 Mossel Bay!

4 men in the top 12 overall, 1 lady in the top 10 overall, multiple Age Group podiums and a whole lot of victories for the athletes who completed the race.

Well-done and congratulations to everyone who completed the race!

Race week for all 70.3 Mossel Bay athletes!

From a coaching point of view, I am arguably sending down the strongest ever men's squad to date for this race! On the womens side, it is a massive blow for us that Hannah cannot race. Her fitness and form is incredible!

With Allan, Connor, Grebe and Adriaan all gunning for a possible top 10 overall positions. I cannot wait to see how they will match up against some super strong Age Group athletes! @cmpmercer @han_newman

In total the Academy will have just under 50 athletes representing this weekend!

Unfortunately I will not be able to race due to a current foot injury and whilst prioritizing Desert Dash Mtb race in 3 weeks time, the injury is most certainly a blessing in disguise!

However, having paid for everything to go down and race. I will do the swim and bike leg. Mainly for training purposes and at least getting some value for my money spend on this weekend.

Dash Update:
Just over two weeks ago, while do a Desert Dash training ride, I suffered severe muscle weakness and cramps. The group of guys who joined all deserves a mention as their help and patience is that of true champions.

The past weekend I went on a solo 220 km mtb ride to redeem myself! Dankie Dave!

Good luck to all racing this weekend!

The past few months have meant the world to me. But I’m playing it smart and safe, and ending off the season here … without a race to top it all off, unfortunately.

Until next year
