POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This past week, we had the great honor of celebrating books in schools here in Buffalo. Two amazing authors were welcomed to our city and a Celebration of Reading was held.

Salina Yoon - author and illustrator of The Kat & Mouse series, Penguin and Penelope, and so many more books visited Holmes Elementary, Franklin Elementary and Charter School for Applied Technologies (CSAT).

Jarret Krosoczka spent an entire day with students at CSAT.

Meg was able to attend some of these events and on Tuesday, she visited a kindergarten classroom at CSAT as part of their Celebration of Reading. Meg spoke to students about how she opened the bookstore and read Alliah L. Agostini's latest book, "The Ten Tins."

The message of this week was that books and stories can, and do, change lives.

We want to send a huge thanks to CSAT for inviting us in all week and getting these great books in the hands of students and to Holmes and Franklin for supporting our shop by having families place orders through us.

In all of this, there are librarians and leaders at these schools making the decisions to highlight the importance of books and supporting a locally owned business. THANK YOU for such an amazing week!

We've got so much more planned and we can't wait to bring even more authors into classrooms in 2027!

Also, thanks to Jarret for taking the photo of us and me talking about books to an entire gym full of kiddos.

A new school year can bring LOTS of feelings. Excitement may come with some jitters. New beginnings can bring a little uncertainty. And then there’s the overwhelm of navigating a new school, new class, and new routine.
Here’s a collection of a few our favorite books that help navigate the anxieties, excitement, unsure feelings, and wonderings that come about this time of year.
