What a full-circle moment. ❤️⚽️🇺🇸
We’ve had the privilege of watching @evelynshores grow up from that little girl on the soccer field, through countless play dates, games, tournaments, friendships, and memories along the way. And now, a call-up to the U.S. Women’s National Team. 🇺🇸 We couldn’t be happier for you or more proud to have watched a little part of your journey.
Congratulations, Ev! So incredibly well deserved. We love you! ❤️⚽️🇺🇸

UVA’s 3-2-5 suffocated Northwestern. 🔶⚔️

With Addison Halpern and Jordyn Hardeman controlling the double pivot, Virginia consistently created an overload underneath the ball.

The wingers stayed high and wide looking for 1v1s, two 10s occupied the half-spaces, and Giovana Canali led the line—while also producing an early goal-of-the-season contender. 🤯

In buildup, the back three and double pivot gave UVA numbers to either combine through Northwestern’s pressure or find the wingers isolated outside.

And in the final third?

Virginia placed five players across the last line, keeping the distances short enough for quick combinations while constantly threatening the box.

Also hoping Olivia Rademaker has a speedy recovery after being forced off early. 🙏

Overload underneath. Isolate out wide. Put five on the last line.

👇 How would you defend UVA’s 3-2-5 without giving their wingers 1v1s?
