I managed to get a few fun videos at @upstaterenfaire last weekend. We had so much fun this year at @hollywildpreserve ! Putting together an event of this scale in a new location is always a challenge, and the organizers did an amazing job! I can't wait to see where things go next year. Thanks to everyone who came out and continued to show us support. This show is in our own backyard and it is always incredibly rewarding to see our customers come back again and again. We couldn't do it without you! 🖤 Seeing how people put together their amazing costumes and come together in this wonderful community is the cherry on top of this fantastical endeavor that is DARKSTAR MACHINATIONS.

🇺🇸 44 years of age. 29 years of Jiu-Jitsu. 26 years sharing life with my beautiful wife, with 17 of those years married. An amazing family back in Brazil and an amazing Jiu-Jitsu community here in the US. When I look at all those years, I can only be grateful for the journey so far. This year has been a hard one due to some personal problems, but that is just part of life. We all have our ups and downs, and overall, it has been a great journey. I’m grateful for the opportunity I have to do what I love, to have my family, and to have so many great people around me. Thank you to everyone who took the time to wish me a happy birthday. I’m truly grateful for all of you! It's been two weeks since we returned from Pennsic i'm just now getting settled enough to share some highlights. It was an absolutely amazing show in set in a unparalelled immersive environment. We had the opportunity to showcase our new Raj tent , along with a number of brand new jewelry designs. I never take enough pictures but I did manage to get a few shots as a sampler. Pennsic is one of those magical times where I get to see my pieces in action. I can hardly go to a party without seeing my jewelry worn. And to make it even better, my pieces were often paired with some of my favorite colleagues and artisans work. @blackmountainclothingco @reliquaryarcanum The Crafty Celts @theancientatelier We will be working diligently over the next few weeks to get our new products photographed and up on the website. Congratulations to the @alliancegvl competition team this weekend! 🦅🔥 Every athlete made the podium in their divisions, while collectively contributing to 3 TEAM AWARDS! 🏆 One of those awards was the Elite 8 — recognizing the top 8 athletes competing from each team. 🇺🇸 A VERY SPECIAL BLACK BELT 🦅🔥 Tonight was an amazing and emotional night at Alliance Greenville. I had the honor of promoting Allison Brown to Black Belt, becoming the first female Black Belt promoted from our academy. 🙏 Allison came to us as a Blue Belt, and after almost 10 years of training, she has finally reached the rank of Black Belt. I’ve had the opportunity to watch her grow not only in Jiu-Jitsu, but also as a person, in her artistic craft, and as a martial artist. One thing I have always appreciated about Allison is that she is her own person. She has a strong personality, an artistic mind, and she thinks deeply about things. Through the years, we have had many conversations that challenged my way of thinking as well. As coaches, we teach our students, but if we are paying attention, our students teach us too. I also recognize that her journey has not always been easy. Jiu-Jitsu has traditionally been a male-dominated environment, and the experience of a woman coming through the ranks can be very different from ours as men. There are challenges that, as a male coach, I may never completely understand. But I have watched Allison navigate those challenges, continue to show up, and continue to work on herself. Her discipline, work ethic, consistency, and commitment to Jiu-Jitsu are qualities that I respect very much. Tonight is also special because the next generation of women and young girls who step onto our mats will have someone they can look at and know that this path has been walked before them. Allison, thank you for trusting me and Alliance Greenville with your journey. Thank you for all the years on the mats, the conversations, the challenges, and everything we have learned together. I’m extremely proud of you and honored to call you one of our Black Belts. Congratulations, Allison. Im so thankful for yesterday, for a magical fun day at one of my favorite shows. @upstaterenfaire put on their Midsummer FairyFest which is a small and intimate show with a great vibe and an incredible staff. Im honored for it to happen in my hometown. Days like this are the the days I get to sit back on my metaphorical laurels and just listen to the song that has become my life. I get to see how all my friends and colleagues in the area are growing and flourishing. I get to see the support of the community, my friends, and my family as I build my business and my art. AND I get to see a diverse group of people come together and celebrate something that little girls love. ( and I think that might be the best part ( boys too!)) Thanks to everyone who came to my booth at either Pride or Fairyfest! It was a big day with the wind and the rain causing a lot of chaos. HA! So when I say I had a great day with all that going on, mean, it was a great day! ( knocked over table and soaked inventory aside) And really big thanks to my crew and family for all their help this weekend especially with the storm. To Alicia and Liz for running the booths, to my parents for their rescue with needed supplies, and to my sister Kristin for helping me handle the storm and being my party companion. 🖤 Cheers to another day living my dreams. 🍻🌈✨️

Update! Spring has been busy finishing off spring with the last day of @varenfaire ! Keeping up with social media has been hard. We are fast approaching the end of year 2 of fulltime with DARKSTAR MACHINATIONS and I'm so proud of our growth! Ive got alot of new exciting ideas for my design time this summer including goodies for Pennsc and Pride!!! 🏳️‍🌈 Hope too see you all this summer at @the_pennsic_war @upstaterenfaire @upstatepridesc ! And huge thanks to @moofy_creates for being my amazing assistant this entire busy year, couldn't do it without you! 🖤🖤🖤
