A few 1890-1900 images of Marblehead showing mainly the Stearns and MacKay Shipyard and vicinity. Most of these buildings are gone. Last image shows Marblehead Transportation Company’s Delta. Delta was put into service in the 1880s ferrying people and goods throughout the harbor. They also offered harbor tours. These images for the most part haven’t been published before. Stearns and MacKay and later Graves were located basically where the Landing Restaurant is and where the current Marblehead Transportation Shipyard is located. #marblehead @allmarblehead #marbleheadma

The fifteenth of the stroller walk series!!
Marblehead’s Local Lore Loop 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Some highlights ➡️
- Lovis Cove: legend has it that it’s haunted by the screams of the “Screeching Lady,” a 1600s Spanish noblewoman captured by pirates and left 💀 on its shore
- Old Burial Hill: one of the oldest cemeteries in the US dating back to 1638. You may recognize it from a few scenes in Hocus Pocus
- Redds Pond: Named for Wilmot Redd, Marblehead’s only Salem Witch Trial victim. You can visit her memorial stone on Old Burial Hill looking right over the pond

I hate asking people for money. Always have. But I’ve come to realize that some things are worth feeling a little uncomfortable about.

And this is one of them.

This Sunday, for the 5th year, I’ll be walking with my family in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Boston Area Out of the Darkness Walk.

As a 3x suicide loss survivor and mental health advocate, this cause is at the heart of everything I do. And it means more to me than I can put into words.

We’re walking to honor those we’ve lost, including my dad Jim, support those who are struggling, and help prevent other families from experiencing suicide loss.

So I’m asking for whatever help you’re willing and able to give. Because every donation makes a difference.

And if donating isn’t possible, sharing this post means just as much.

Grateful for any help you can give.

This weekend, we’re walking for the people who can’t. For the people who have lost their life to suicide.

For my dad, who took his life when I was only 10.

For my cousin and one of my closest friends who I’ve lost to suicide.

For every family living with the unimaginable grief of losing someone they love this way.

And for every person struggling right now who deserves the chance to get help and find hope so they can stay.

This weekend marks my family’s 5th year walking in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Boston Area Out of the Darkness Walk.

And I’m asking for your help.

If you’ve ever wanted to make a difference in the fight against suicide, this is one way to do it.

Every donation, supports AFSP’s lifesaving work in suicide prevention, research, education, and survivor support.

$5. $10. $25. Whatever you can give matters.

Because no family should have to experience this kind of loss. And because there are still so many lives we can help save.

So please consider donating to our team, The Survivors, through the link below. And if you can’t donate, sharing this post means just as much.

Thank you for walking alongside us.
