"Get ready! This Saturday join us to watch Alcides Neto Sextet LIVE from The Jazzlab in Melbourne 🎵🎶 🎸 🥁

Alcides Neto is a Brazilian guitarist, percussionist, drummer, and vocalist based in Melbourne.

Inspired by folk music from his home country, Alcides aims to present his perspective of Brazilian music, mixing traditional styles with Brazilian contemporary jazz.

Neto is noted for his distinctive percussive style of playing guitar, melding fingerstyle, and articulate strumming techniques to achieve a dynamic, delicate, and varied sound. The result is an organic and authentic style. He currently works as a full-time musician performing in different formats across Melbourne venues, including the Jazzlab!

For this show, Alcides put together a 6 piece band to play a blend of his own compositions with some classical Brazilian jazz tunes:

Alcides Neto – Guitar, percussion & vocals

Steve Hornby – Double bass

Hong Yang – Piano/keys

Ben Vanderwal – Drums

Clarens Sanchez – Percussion & Vocal

Yael Zamir – Flute
